Henry is a common-ass name. No one cares about it.

Ezzard though? That's just plain cool. Ezzard Mack Charles. Cool as cool can be.

You two need to just accept that!

There's probably a lot of people on here with that name. A lot of people have common names, yo. Its a common thing. I've got a fairly common name, no big deal.

I'm just saiyan...Ezzard's a kick ass name and yet another way in which the cobra from Cincinatti outranks ye ole homicidal one.

    Mustache, too.

Ezzard makes me think of Lizzard. And Gizzard. His uncles, who were decent amateurs.

Ugh!! Why do people make me do this ****?? You can make a case for either guy so since you made Pacs case let's make Floyd's. How do you rate Floyd higher????

Winning streaks (someone once said the purpose of boxing is winning)??? Floyd has that on lock. Dominating weight classes (this is how people used to measure greatness weight jumping added to ones legacy not defined it)?? That would be Floyd too. Length of time at the top of the sport?? I believe that's Floyd. You said something about big names well Pac may have names which are bigger but as to who BEAT the largest quantity of big names it's Floyd. Ppv sales Floyd. I'm sure there's more, but I didn't even want to post in the first place but I just don't understand all of this hate. You all act as if Pac is god and Floyd never accomplished anything. Why?? You are allowed to give them both credit you know?

then you have to give him a loss to that guy who knocked him down with a jab and pac had the 'bute syndrome' where he had like a 11 second count lol.
Nah but seriously, he won a title at that weight, so the losses should count too

They're shady troublestarters is all. Each and every one of them likely members of the cult of Ezzard Charles I bet. Probably all named Henry, too. :think

I don't think there's any reason to believe Floyd was past his prime by '05. He was no longer at his most optimal weight by then, but he filled out the divisions just fine. It's not like he was small for 140 by the time he got there (late 20's). He was still pretty much in his athletic prime as far as I can tell, and he probably (I think clearly, btw) learned a few things post-Castillo. I think he worked on the inside game considerably more after that. Corrales is still his best showing, of course, but Diego wasn't the kind of guy who could really exploit any potential weakness in Floyd's game in the way Castillo was. The very best and most complete Mayweather we ever saw just might have been the '05 version.

As for the dog thing, I think you have something there. I'll get a dog and have a son, and name one Ezzard and the other Mack! They'll go along perfectly together! Well, until the dog dies when the boy's a teenager...dammit.

I just made myself sad. :-(

You do know that Floyd has fought Marquez too and only needed one try to get the job done. unlike someone.... not to mention losing to no names, and over the hill fighter, and got KTFO by a 40 year old. Also possibly on some ****. And fought drained guys, fought guys coming off bad losses, the list just go on and on.

ALso prime elite fighter >>>>>> over the hill to shot elite fighters.
