As interesing as that fight would be, I'd rather Cotto retire. He has been into many Wars. He already got his biggest pay day, not too many left. He could invest and retire good instead of paying his savings on medical care when he is old.

Showtime knew what they were getting into. Mayweather fights Danny Garcia and it does over a mil. What got the deal done was not Showtime it was CBS execs.

Let's not get carried away yet. May can still change his mind or maybe the news is BS. But I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't happen.

You got Garcia with the Puerto Rico background. You got Khan with the UK behind him. ****, I wouldn't mind seeing Broner vs May! Funny how this dude is rarely brought up lol. The guy is actually older than Canelo and is fighting Paulie at welter. I know they would never fight but that would also be a big money fight. They'll ***** out though. This is what sucks about boxing. They are "friends". Ponce and Mares were friends and both didn't give a ****! JCC and Ramirez back in the day were compadres and they didn't give a ****! They approached it like a sport. It;'s more about money now, less about the sport.

Yeah it will. Garcia wont turn down that money at all but they trying to line up garica vs winner of Lucas-Peterson on Sept 7. they always try to have a good card before a Mayweather event.

That fight would make so much more if Garcia can win that fight and 1 more after that.

I wouldn't fight on the undercard- the best business move he could make is to repeat the timing of what he just did where he fights a little before Floyd so people are buzzing about his performance on Floyd's night.

It also helps cultivate that Canelo can be a headlining fighter himself. Being on an undercard for Floyd now may get him more views, but it also weakens his bargaining position because Floyd will simply take credit for whatever viewers Saul brings and he'd still be an "undercard" fighter.

Now, will he be able to get a fight scheduled 1-2 weeks before Floyd's date? It's tough with the compressed time frame, which is probably what Canelo's team is thinking and why they're frustrated if they think Floyd's wasting their time. The timing of Canelo's next fight is a big deal- he really needs to have it before Floyd's for his best business interests.

I'm a Mayweather fan, but this is unacceptable! Floyd holds one of the 154 lbs titles, but he cannot even fight at a catch weight below that weight? Dude fought Guerrero, a no-hoper, now he wants freckle face to starve himself down to 147? To hell with that!

There should be a rehydration clause for this fight.

No going above 164. Every pound Alvarez goes above 164 will incur a penalty of 1m/lb.

No one wants to see a 150 lb man fight a 175 pb man. It's ridiculous, its stupid and its unnecessary.

Or Floyd could bulk up a little to make it more fair. It's not that much to ask for, Marquez bulked up to his 5th division, and he's waaay less equiped. Plus he's no 2x and current champ in his 5th weightclass

Canelo came in like 164-165 vs Lopez so I'm sure he could do it again if that's a problem for Floyd.

The fight will not happen. Floyd talks about fighting guys and then he backs out.
