He's the reason for every ticket sold in Chicago, though. So, he earned his keep.

Canelo has no leverage[No one does for that matter] when it comes to calling the shots if he wants to fight Floyd. However, the best logical choice for Floyd is to accept the fight at 154 lbs simply because he has already fought and won two belts there. Floyd can still make certain demands about how much Canelo can weigh on fight night or do a fight day weigh to make sure he doesn't rehydrate much to 170 lbs, but at the end of the day, the fight needs to happen at 154 lbs or Floyd will take some heavy criticism [He's already being criticized and held at a higher standard on a daily basis anyway] if he takes it at 150 lbs or 147 lbs.

At the end of the day, he should just accept it at the weigh of 154 lbs, but he has all the leverage to call the shots and can make sure Canelo doesn't have a huge physical advantage on fight night if he wants to.

Where's Pacquiao? Wasn't he second last year with 60+ million.

    Weird.

What's he dictating, that the fight should be at 154, where their both champions?? :huh Canelo is not dropping down to 147, it would kill him - so that is a moot point. I'm sure Floyd knows this. If your too scared to fight him just admit it and move on.

To be fair, this fits the Andre Ward/Chad Dawson mold perfectly.

Chad called out Andre, wanted his belts. Andre fought him for his belts at his weight limit. He didn't drain him, he merely accepted the offer.

Canelo called out Floyd. Floyd fights at 147.

I think the competitiveness of both bouts suffers from lack of a reasonable weight agreement, but I'd be a hypocrite to apply a different standard to two similar circumstances.

this is projected for this year and Pacquiao will only have one fight this year and it's hard to guess how much he'll make

Floyd fought at 154 in his last two fights. Why didn't he ask Cotto to come down to 147? Didn't he say he wanted him to be comfortable?

And Andre / Chad weren't both champions in the same weight class. This isn't the same thing.

He's demanding that the fight must be at 154 and that's not for him to dictate. PBF holds two belts one at 147 and one at 154 he has no right to tell PBF which weight he should defend. I don't see how this is such a hard point to understand?

Does Mayweather have a fighter equivalent to Duran on his resume? NO

Does mayweather have a fighter equivalent to Joey Maxim on his resume? NO

**** all the inbetween ****, whats important is the end result. At the end of the day, those guys stepped in the ring with the biggest challenges in their era.

Can we say the same for Mayweather Jr? NO.

Good call. Andre had not fought at light heavy just a year before. I hadn't thought about that. He didn't have a light heavy belt.

In that case, I retract my previous statements. Floyd has a choice to defend either his 147 belt or his 154 belt and should take the best opponent available between those two divisions.

If Ward fought at 175 as well, and had a belt there it would be a better comparison.

I get where you guys are coming from, Saul is some noob and Floyd earned his way to the top of the sport and has been there for years, so yeah Alverez really has no clout....but when your talking about fighting at a division that both fighters fight in, Floyd has a belt there, and it doesnt seem feasible for Alverez to make 147 then theres really no reason to demand that weight.

Floyd had no problem fighting Cotto there, claims he wanted Cotto comfortable at his best weight, so why not Saul?
