It might be true, but at the same time I think Mayweather gets the short end of the stick when it comes to perception. When Floyd beat Canelo all of a sudden after the fight he's green and Mayweather was always expected to beat him easy. I get the feeling that if Pacquiao beat Canelo it would be lauded as some sort of legendary win.

Mayweather has a higher bar set for him in my opinion, in terms of what fights would be 'meaningful' for him, but that probably comes down to the fact that people generally see Floyd as the superior boxer.

Totally agree with this. Floyd is a VERY special talent but Manny's resume, when you look at it, is bloody outstanding!

I don't necessarily think this is true imo it has more to do with perception. Mayweather has fought more #1 rated fighters, fought more champions, and has been at the top longer, Pacquiao has held titles at more weights, is lesser skill but more exciting, because he's more exciting and perceived as the smaller guy more stock is put into his accomplishments. In reality though Pacquiao was coming into the ring at 130/35 the same size as Mayweather as 147.

As far as common opponents I think Mayweather fought the better versions respective to where they were in there career going into the fight, Pacquiao beat them faster. In terms of P4P fighters fought/beat technically Mayweather has a slight edge (6-4)
Corrales, Mosley, Hatton, Marquez, Guerrero*, Alvarez*-Barrera, Marquez*, Hatton, Bradley*
    ATG's fought/beaten Pacquiao has the edge (4-3)
Barrera, Marquez*, Hoya, Morales-Hoya, Marquez, Castillo
Other potential HOFers Mayweather has the edge (7-4)
Hernandez, Corrales, Gatti, Judah, Mosley, Hatton, Cotto-Bradley*, Mosley, Hatton, Cotto
Both are tied for most Lineal titles all time(4)

For me Mayweather takes it, PBF has been fighting meaningful fights since 98", meanwhile every fight Pacquiao has had since Cotto, Mayweather would get killed for fighting under those same circumstances

Good analysis? ****ing Mayweather's best three fighters (that aren't shot-to-****) are: Castillo, Corrales, and Hatton. None of these guys are really HoF worthy, and he robbed Castillo. He's getting that 9-7 number out of his ass. Dude is stupid.

We must remember that Pac has fought twice as often as Floyd this past half decade. Considering Floyd's one fight a year schedule (prior to this year), his opponent selection has been very disappointing. Pac most definitely deserved the Fighter of the Decade award.

Disagree. It's about even. They still need eachother, have for years now. Since people are still saying **** like this it proves that they still have a score to settle. Past prime or not, they need to settle this ****.

Its about being objective I look at a lot of factors when considering the quality of victory not just the name beaten, the names are important but when you beat them is probably more important. Castillo imo is a top 10/15 LW all time , Hatton and Corrales are listed a potential HOFers both were unbeaten and top 5 P4P and champions at the time of the fight.
Being critical in my judgement is not saying Pacquiao isn't great because he's undoubtedly an ATG but when comparing him to other ATG's things like this sway decisions for me.

You mention shot fighters but in most cases will completely ignore worse circumstances Pacquiao oppenents have faced

Hoya wasn't prime for Mayweather but he was #1 JMW Champ coming off a dominant KO win compared to Hoya coming of a loss/bad showing at a weight he hadn't been to in years.

Cotto was more prime for Pacquiao but got destoryed by Margarito and arguably lost to Clottey before facing Pacquiao on top of lack of trainer/family issues compared to a slightly past prime yet fighting under one of the best trainers coming off 3 TKO wins

Undefeated JMW Champ Alvarez at a higher weight(cw) vs a recently KO's Hatton Lineal JWW Champ

Mosley coming off a top 3 win of his vs Mosley coming off a loss/draw

Marquez coming off what should be a win in MP-JMM II at a weight he's never fought at compared to in most opinions losing to Marquez at least 3/4 times the last by KO

As far as career accomplishments Guerrero/Baldomir have won more titles in more weights than Clottey/Margarito (Guerrero unbeaten 8yrs mandatory-Margarito KO loss suspension/Baldomir undisputed champ-Clottey coming off am official lost but is probably the best WW Pacquiao fought)

Ortiz coming off his best win and being the next best titlist vs Daiz being the worst titlist

Even the ATG's they have fought Barrera I is a good win, but how do you mention shot fighters when Morales lost every fight before and after Pacquiao

The only fighter Pacquiao has fought that was prime and on an extended win streak since Barerra I was Bradley and Pacquiao lost to Bradley. It really comes down to lower tier wins
, Gatti, Judah vs Lebaweda, Saskusl
