First off lets make something clear Im not saying Mayweather is the GOAT and neither is Pac. What im saying is that he is definitely an ATG and there's a lot of ppl who say he shouldn't be. Also Pac has fought in 8 divisions because he went pro earlier, him and Floyd were both fighting at 106 at the age of 16 but Floyd was in the amateurs.

Boxing isnt structured like it wasback in the day. Fighting 15 rounders, 10 times a year. "Contenders" had records like 78-4. Fighters were hungrier back then and it was hard to get a big payday. SRR beat a guy who was 42-0 named Marty Servo, Fritzie Zivic who had over 100 wins, LaMotta several times, and that was all before ever fighting for a title! SRR was 73-1-1 when he fought for his first world title. In todays landscape, be would have already had more titles than most any active fighter.

can he do it lets take the ghost fight as a example it did 800 000 buys and floyd was the p4p king not comeing of losses and it still flopped and it was in america

he needs big names and big undercard to do good numbers

im sure bradley vs pacquaio would do better then mayweather vs ghost we already know pacqauio vs marquez 5 would make at least 1.5 mill

Love how 800k is a flop when it comes to Floyd

Tells you just how big the guy is and just how much pressure there is on him.

Now the whole world, the media and boxing fans know that Floyd is too afraid to fight Pacquiao as the no.1 mandatory challenger for him. After 4 years
had passed, he had never runs out of repetitive excuses(his latest: low ppvs, pac who? and no business with Arum). When can he have the urge to fight and stop running or evading Pacquiao?

Until the general public stops buying into Mayweather and Schaefer's bull****,they will continue to buy-but not like canelo.
Canelo was as much a draw as Mayweather was and certainly the so-so Khan doesn't have the same fan base as Canelo.

It seems Floyd Mayweather nearly always chooses aggressive, come-forward fighters that make him look good like Victor Ortiz, Saul Alvarez or Robert Guerrero (or old faded boxers such as Shane Mosley and Miguel Cotto).

He avoid slick boxers in their prime like Erislandy Lara and Timothy Bradley.

The only slick boxer Mayweather ever fought was Zab Judah about 8 years ago. Floyd struggled and looked ordinary in the early rounds, and was lucky that Zab tired in the second half of the fight.

bradley is with TR. you might have a point that he has fought alot more come forward fighters then slick boxers.. but you should prob name realistic opponents he should or could have faced. for floyd who cares about nothing but money you cant blame him for not wanting to go out of his comfort zone (147) and jump to 154 and face a no name lara.

and zab did not "tire"... watch the middle rounds again even the commentators were commenting on the "moves" zab was doing saying "its the mark of a fighter who has no plan B"

    Of course he can.

Does a big name opponent and a good undercard add to the buy rate- sure. But Mayweather is the main selling point.

Its funny how people want to attribute Mayweather's PPV success to everything but him. If it's the undercard that's getting him all these buys, why dont those fighters headline their own PPV's since they're such big stars.
