The ignored facts.

Immediately after Rios fight, Nov 2013, Arum announced he booked a fight for Apr 12, 2014, which coincidentally is so close to the Mayweather fight on May 3, 2014 it begs the question why? Many tried to dispel the date was etched in stone but here's where the story twists. Manny, in what seemed to be a brilliant move, declared he would be wiling to fight for charity arming his fans with plenty of ammunition against Floyd/GBP. In less than 24 hours the ploy turned into a PR nightmare as a fight between Bradley and Pac for Apr 12, 2014 leaked to the media. Obviously there's a disconnect between the business side, Bob Arum and the fighter Pacquiao. Manny and his camp shooting themselves in the foot is not uncommon.

Bob is a meticulous planner. He's not an impulsive person. A business cannot take such risks. One wonders then how long the fight was in planning. Three weeks, a month? This doesn't take into account the normal negotiations between two camps which pushes the planning start date back to the early part of Dec 2013.

How sincere was Arum in actually making a Floyd fight happen for May when there was simply not enough time for negotiations? Perhaps sincere is too strong of a word. All Arum said was he would do anything to make the Pac-Floyd fight happen. He never said in May. Did people really expect the brash Floyd/GBP to respond over the holidays or the month of January for what could be the biggest PPV fight ever?

I've always stood the ground, the May fight was impossible for logistics reason. It was emotional and wishful thinking by the fans that this fight could be made as soon as May. The reasons for mixed signals from Pac's camp was Pac reallly wanting the fight and Bob knowing behind the scenes it couldn't happen so soon. A September 2014 fight is more likely.
