Hard to disagree with that, but it's not inconceivable that Floyd could have that stain and still rank higher than Pac. Duran had the "no mas" incident and on virtually everyone's ATG P4P list he ranks higher than the others who make up the Fab 4. I personally put more of the blame on Floyd for this fight not taking place, but I also now rank Floyd higher than Pac because of Pac's last JMM fight.

Lets discuss this as men with no childish antics .

I want to ask you this question and please answer truthfully .

DO YOU HONESTLY BELIEVE TO THE BOTTOM OF YOUR HEART THAT MANNY PACQUIAO IS MORE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS FIGHT NEVER TAKING PLACE ??

Pac needs Mayweather for his legacy more than Mayweather needs Pac. Beating Pac does very little for Mayweather's legacy as the bigger man is supposed to win( see Duran v Hagler). On the otherhand, a victory by the smaller Pac would further embellish his resume(see Leonard v Hagler). Mayweather really has nothing to gain and everything to lose legacy-wise fighting Pac.

No one is going to blame anyone for taking tests that the boxing commissions don't impose. I don't recall any fight of the ages not being made because of drug testing. Ali-Foreman, Ali-Frazier (3), Duran - SRL (3), SRL - Hearns (2), Hagler-Hearns, Pac - JMM, Tyson-Lewis, Tyson - Holyfield (2), Bowe- Holyfield (3),

All these fights were made and drug testing wasn't an issue. And yes, they were tested after the fight by the boxing commissions. Yet now all of a sudden, out of no where it becomes a deal breaker, I mean wtf is that all about and who's kidding who. You want stronger drug tests, lobby the Nevada state boxing commission.

And honestly if you won the fight, would you really care if your opponent was doing something wrong?

Just based on black and white accomplishments

    Pacquiao / Mayweather
4 time Lineal Champ / 4 time Lineal Champ
    8 divison Titles / 5 division Titles
    / Unbeaten
/ Most Champs beaten in history*

Feel free to add to it but thinking of major accomplishments this is how it looks

I haven't seen one, NOT ONE ATG list done by anyone that has Pacquiao in the top 30, most I've seen have had mayweather at least top 20.

Statistically he's already the best. Highest +/- rating in the history of boxing.

the only people that are making this a valid argument are Pacquiao fans who bring it up.

Realistically, skill wise, resume wise, impact wise, its not even close.

Pac's resume isnt that impressive when you really look into it.

I disagree because Floyd is always going to get the lion's share of the blame for this fight not taking place. And that aside, if he's as good as him and his fans say he is, he's not going to loose.

I've never see any list with Floyd in the top 20, I'd appreciate you showing me one.

    http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...50-pound-for-pound-boxers-of-all-time/page/23

This list has Pac at 34 and Mayweather at 29, and it's not all that great of a list.

The classic section has these two in the mid 40's.

How much would you move Mayweather up for beating Pac? I wouldn't move him up a notch. Mayweather is expected to beat Pac by most sane people. Mayweather moves up by beating fighters like Martinez and GGG. On the other hand, Pac moves up some with a victory over Mayweather. Pac would be the underdog in that fight

I'd move him up a couple of notches because it's a type of fighting style he appears to be avoiding.

It's not just the fighter, it's what the fighter brings to the table and how Mayweather deal's with it.

But I agree Pac would be the underdog today, but he might not have been 5 years ago.

And I also agree that if Mayweather were to take on GGG and perhaps Martinez (but he's getting pretty old) it would do more for his legacy than a Pac win.

Yes, if Pac did win, it would help him in terms of legacy more than it would help Mayweather, but either fighter would benefit from a win.
