Travis Tygart, executive director of the USADA, said he had talked to representatives of both fighters about providing testing. Tygart said he welcomed the request as he would for any sport that does not have stringent Olympic-type testing.
"I think every sport that wants to have clean athletes it's a sign of a step forward to have out of competition testing," Tygart said. "It's an essential thing to do if you want to protect the integrity of the sport. Clean athletes want a level playing field."
Tygart noted Olympic athletes are tested often and without notice. He said less than a teaspoon of blood is removed out of an average of 380 teaspoons in the normal human and that it regenerates within an hour of being withdrawn.
Blood tests, he said, can find things urine tests can't, like the use of human growth hormone, synthetic hemoglobin or blood transfusions, all of which "certainly would aid in an endurance-type event."
Ellerbe said he couldn't imagine why Pacquiao wouldn't agree, especially considering both fighters would likely make more than $25 million for the bout.
"Only Manny Pacquiao can answer that question," Ellerbe said. "The ball is in his court."

this is from an AP article

First, Pac fans said "Floyd will price himself out." Then they say, "oh he wants the fight @ 154 w/ 10 ounce gloves." Now he is trying to get out of the fight because he wants to ensure a fair playing field? Interesting....

That's false -- Manny has said he will do blood testing on at least two occasions, just not every moment when Team PBF says to "jump."

Like what I said before, this is just mind games. Pac is clearly in control of everything thats going on with this bout. He's the one the Floyd wants to fight.

I hear you. If I was accused of doing something illegal I know I wasn't doing I would do everything in my power to put it to rest and restore my good name. Pac taking this test puts it to rest and gives his haters a big **** you in the process. If he doesn't take this test there will be a cloud of suspicion that he had something to hide thats the way it works.

if you believe this you are extremely naive. and pac isnt being forced into taking the test anymore than either guy is forced into giving in to the other fighters demands, but obviously not agreeing to this one is gonna cause some doubt in many people eyes and maybe even rightfully so

This isn't like baseball. This is a combat sport. I find it even worse to cheat in something like boxing.

Ture:good but im sure more will come... Im wondering if its a plan of floyds...put the drug test out there so if floyd loses, he falls back on this as a reason he lost..."pac was juiced"

    just a thought

they need to just get it on.... this is stupid IMO

Pac should agree to this then demand that Floyd only eat and drink the same kind and amount of food through out training camp. This will even out the nutrition factor for both fighters and its all in fair gamemanship.
