"I think the fight that the fans want is Manny and Floyd. That's what they want to see and they should do it. I have already had four fights with Pacquiao, and many people would prefer to see these two opponents face each other in the ring. I think if we voted on what fight people want to see, I sure they would want to see Pacquiao vs Mayweather Jr. There is talk of a fifth fight [with Pacquiao], but I am not losing any sleep over it. I am preparing to fight against Alvarado and I don't care about any other fight," Marquez said.

    Marquez stating the obvious.

Marquez has made some really entertaining fights in recent years with aggressive, action fighters with leaky defenses. Hopefully the Alvarado fight is another one.

    JMM's combos are beautiful

i would watch a 5th fight if it was a retirement fight for both, just leave it all in the ring in one more battle.

Holy ****. I thought Marquez would have been jumping at this opportunity after his recent performances?!

I never thought i would see the day the Marquez ducks anyone. I called bullsh1t on the duck over Provo...but this may just make me believe it is true.

Marquez ducking Pacquiao & Provodnkov... who will he fight after Alvarado?

Unlike just about every other fighter in the game, Mayweather is IMMEDIATELY broken up when his opponent closes the distance.

The only exception was against Cotto, who beat Mayweather bad enough (despite losing of course), to make Mayweather contemplate retirement.

Since that fight, anytime Guerrero or Canelo got close, and their bodies touched for a clinch, they were IMMEDIATELY broken apart.

A guy like Maidana has very limited skill.

How will he have a chance if the MOMENT he gets close, Floyd will tie up and they will get broken apart?

He doesn't have a chance. There will be no back of the head KO shot. This fight is as good as fixed.

Floyd isn't going to try the same gameplan he did against Cotto, who beat him bad enough to make him contemplate retirement (despite losing).

The fact is, the ONLY guy with a chance to beat Floyd is Pacquaio because of his incredible handspeed and fast feet.

I thought Kirkland would have a chance, but after watching Bayless RUN TO FLOYD's RESCUE everytime Canelo got close, I don't give Kirkland a chance.

He won't be allowed to fight his fight.

This **** is going to be unbelievably boring.

You give Mayweather the same ref that Pacquaio got during the Rios fight, where the ref let Rios bang away on Pacquaio, you may get a real fight.

    But Mayweather is protected.

    You won't get one.

The only hope is Rios making fun of his BD. That's it. And Rios might not be as clever as I thought he was.

    LOL.

JMM is a real fighter and has real opportunities.
He is going to leave the Pac sequels ended at 4 with his thunderous KO.
he don't need the dough so why mess up a good thing.

Guerrero landed plenty of shots during the clinches and you should re-watch some Maidana fights. He is bad at fighting in the clinch.

The ref let Guerrero hold a decent amount in their fight, I remember specifically round 8 or 9 where GUerrero had Floyd tied up for about 45 seconds in that round and was continually punching him.

I do agree though that some refs in Mayweather's fights are quick to break up clinches. But that's usually what happens with the best fighters in the world, they get more leeway in fights compared to the challengers.

FLoyd knows almost every trick in the book and knows how much he can get away with inside the ring. He uses his forearms a good amount to gain separation which is kind of illegal, but unless the ref warns him he'll utilize every trick he knows to his advantage.

But I will say, even if the refs allowed fighters to get dirty on the inside with FLoyd, I don't think it would matter much. Floyd is deceptively strong inside the pocket and in clinches, a lot of opponents think they can just outmuscle Mayweather inside the ring and when they finally fight him, they realize he's not as weak as they thought he would be.

I do enjoy watching both of them fight. Mayweather I like to watch fight live for his defense and counter punching abilities, but his fights are never ones that I will watch multiple times(except for his fights at 130/135) Manny I love to watch too and his fights are USUALLY exciting as long as the opponent is there to fight too. What they do outside the ring I couldn't care less about. So I guess I am a fan of both fighters when it comes down to the fights
