Khan has similar height and reach to Mayweather to go along with better speed.
Pacquiao is an aging shortie that will be jabbed to death by Mayweather.
Khan at least has the physical tools to play with where Pacquiao does'nt.

No doubt in my mind that stylistically, Khan presents more of a challenge to Mayweather.

Calzaghe schooling jones is actually a good win though. Jones had clowned Tito and beat up lacy right after

Some boxing fans were saying that Paulie Malignaggi posed a more difficult challenge for Mayweather than Pacquiao until he got KO lol!

Ok but Ortiz, Guerrero and Maidana all were good fights for Mayweather according to your fanboy logic?

    I don't know.

Would've been interesting if Floyd ended up fighting Cory SPinks at JMW, or even the great WInky Wright at JMW.

Since he never fought either of those guys, I guess maybe Zab or DLH was the best defensive fighter he faced.

You can make a claim for JMM I guess, but he's never been noted to have an elite defense, rather he's an elite counterpuncher that loves to exchange in the pocket like the Mexican warrior he is.

I can't really say any of his 45 opponents would be considered to have an elite level of defense.

I think that speaks volumes to how few fighters actually possess and excellent defense currently in boxing. Off the top of my head, the 2 cubans (Rigo and Lara,) Andre Ward and Floyd are probably the best defensive fighters in the sport right now.

That's a very rudimentary analysis of his career and completely baseless. He's taken on many different styles, it's just they always get dominated once FLoyd makes his adjustments inside the ring.

He's taken on some great competition over the years, to try and generalize all his fights as being against slow plodders is a silly thing to say.

It certainly doesnt have the appeal it would have had a few years back, and it wouldnt be a defining win for Mayweather anymore, but it's still not as pointless as Calzaghe-Jones. Not by a long stretch. That was a farce.

Well I never thought that PAcman could beat mAyweather, even when Pacman was dominating the sport while FLoyd was going through semi-retirements.

But still, Pacman is a true ATG, he's still currently recognized as a top 5 P4P fighter in the sport, and he just came off a win against an undefetaed prime Top 5 P4P fighter in Bradley.

Just because most people don't think Pacman can beat FLoyd now doesn't mean it's not the best fight to make in the sport. They're the 2 biggest draws and they obviously have a good amount left in the tank.

It would end up being the highest grossing PPV fight in history and a fight between 2 truly ATG's. I can't remember the last time 2 ATG's fought each other in the ring, I'd say the last time might've been when Pea took on Chavez Sr in the 90's or Hagler-SRL in the late 80's.

This fight still holds a great deal of significance in the boxing world, both legacy-wise and financially.

I wouldn't go so extreme as to compare Pac's decline as so severe as Jones, or to compare the limited Calzaghe to Mayweather.
Mayweather would have still beaten Prime Pac as easily as he beat JMM.

Marquez isn't as good defensively as DLH. It could be argued that Zab, JLC and Genero were, in their own respective ways, just as good on D as JMM was. All of these guy were defensively responsible, but could still be tagged.
