i think the present perception will affect how history will treat both boxers no matter what the facts are ...

difference is Jones was shot to ****

Pac/Floyd are both out of their primes but still have a lot left in the tank I think

The excuses are there already, after the Rios fight people were saying Pac would destroy Floyd

If anything Pac fights more defensive now so it will be more of a chess match, if Pac threw combos he woulda got eaten up with counters

I completely agree. Floyd should fight true challenges like Marcos Maidana and Amir Khan.:lol:

Oh and please do not compare journeymen Mayweather and Pacquiao to Super Joe

It's all about timing and Frank ****** was very good at timing Calzaghe's matches.
They ducked Jones and Hopkins in their primes and pounced on them when they were washed up and older.
Calzaghe got the wins, but fans aren't dumb enough to attach much significance to them.
Calzaghe's wins over Hopkins and Jones are about as meaningful as Hopkins revenge win over Jones.

I totally disagree. People still want the fight so it will continue to be significant. Not only would most people here watch it, we'd pay for it too.

You better believe this message board would blow up if that fight got signed.

Would it be a great fight? Probably not.

Emanuel Augustus maybe, he was very elusive defensively.

Unfortunately, Floyd will be known as the fighter who avoided the one that history will be more kinder to.

I was just thinking that myself too.

When Zab is on point he is very good defensively imo. moves his head well. fast on his feet gettin himself out of his opponents punch range.

its just a shame that most of his fights he just couldn't quite get himself together

Talk about exaggerating. Pacquiao is still one of the best fighters in the world.

    Roy hadn't won a meaningful fight against a contender/titlist in 5 years.
