No, I no longer think Mayweather beats Pacquiao.

When Pacquiao beat Cotto, I thought he would rout Mayweather. Then around the first Bradley fight and the third Marquez fight, I felt Mayweather would beat Pacquiao.

After seeing Maidana, who is a C-level fighter who got shut out by Alexander, take 7-5 rounds from Floyd (my scorecard), I can't see any way in which Mayweather beats Pacquiao now. Floyd's skills have diminished, age is starting to take its toll.

Pacquiao's skills have also diminished, but he's younger than Mayweather is. And, Mayweather does not like southpaws.

It would probably be a pretty boring fight, to be honest. But Pacquiao wins and wins clearly with the higher volume and more punches landed. The book is out on how to fight Mayweather (pressure, volume, give him angles) and even at this point in his career, Pacquiao executes it and beats a Mayweather that is not what he once was.

I wish the fight had been made about 5 years ago, but I still would like to see it now.

 

People seem to forget that Floyd called out Pac in 2012 and he agreed to the demands of Team Pac in 2009 and 2010
