if a fighter finishes his career with his '0', then the first question you should ask is what fights didn't he make
a fighter like Oscar will never be known as one of the best the sport has produced, but the fights he made and lost, helped (rather than hindered) how he would be remembered

 

People care about 0's, even when fighter's have 0's haters of those fighter's are still trying to give them a loss. Floyd has Castillo, Calzaghe has "if he would've fought this or that guy at this time...he'd definitely have a loss" claim, and it continues on into today like Danny with Herrera. Everyone wants their favorite fighter to be undefeated and haters of fighter's want them to have a losses. Everyone cares about 0's, for all the wrong reasons...

 

Yes it's extremely important. You have to try to preserve that 0.

"F#ck that , im not taking no chance in letting this dude take my "0" and let the boxing world have their satisfaction at my demise "

I believe It has something to do with ego as well . I think him losing his "0" to a Filipino would really destroy him mentally and he would never recover from that .

Who you fight will always trump just having an 0 on your records, but the true reason we don't get the fights when we should is because of Mayweather and how fans or critic's try to make him out.

Everyone always says Mayweather cherry picked his way to the top making these young fighter think they can do it to not realizing Mayweather fought the #1 guy in 4/5 divisions to be #1. People continuously praise these entertaining fighters fighting bums and bash Mayweather fighting Champs if you were them why would you take a risk when you can get more credit and be labeled a beast fighting an unranked or #10 fighter

Even the OP says he doesn't care when it just comes from a padded a record, yet he outwardly will say Danny Garcia has a loss even though he's ducked no one. This shows he simply doesn't want Danny to be undefeated regardless if he's ducked no one. I think he's just a ******* full of hot doo doo who doesn't want anyone to be undefeated just like his hero, and it goes for many others as well.

 

some 0's are important and the rest are not. floyd has had is for almost 18 yrs thats damn long time. you can have a padded career all you want but at some point you gone have to fight world champions. i think floyd has fought like 22 world champions thats about half his fights. plus peole have been wanting floyd to lose for like the pass 15 yrs so it's important for him to keep and the guys he fights to take it away.

pacquiao taking bradley's 0 was 3rd best even though he did it twice but was robbed in the 1st fight. bradley was ranked 4 and as high as 3 before manny beat him for the 2nd time so to me that was a big deal and good 0 to take. only other 0 worth a damn besides floyds now is ward. beating ward is an important 0 to take oh and garcia, you can take his 0 you doing something.

Regardless who ran first or whatever, but the bottom line is that if Mayweather never fights Pac, it affects his legacy TREMENDOUSLY and damages Manny's none at all.

Everyone agrees Floyd is an ATG, but TBE? Not unless he fights Manny, and soon. If he waits until Pac is washed up it wont mean as much.
