People remember the close fights against fellow greats, not the easy wins. Pac has these, May doesnt.

Therefore to be an ATG you have to put it on the line, so play conservatively.

Thats the shame about PBF. He has the talent, amazing. Yet he talks as if he is TBE when he is a nothing special whatsoever in boxing history. Because he never said '**** it' I am going to reach for the stars, even if I may lose.

People don't want to realize that he fought a hispanic fighter on the holiday that most of his PPV buyers (Mexicans) celebrate.

It also helps that he had an under card consisting of J'leon Love, Adrien Broner (who was once slated to be the next big thing in boxing), and Amir Khan who enjoys a following from not only Brits, but the South Asianers as well.

People just don't like to use logic when assessing these sorts of things.

Oh, it also helps if someone does extensive PR to promote their fights before hand.

If Floyd today fought someone like Timothy Bradley without a prodigious under card he would probably rake in the neighborhood of somewhere around 600,000 buys.

 

Doesn't change the fact that Khan, and Broner are still widely recognized names and add zeal to the prospect of purchasing a $65 affair.

PBF is a defensive fighter, how often do you see him in a tear-up or KO someone legitimately (ie not sucker punch).

The numbers he has done are amazing for a defensive fighter, probably as good as Sweet Pea's or better.

 

Floyd ppv buys last two fights equals up to 2.6 million buys

Pac ppv buys last two fights equal up to 1.3 million buys
