it's been a trend throughout boxing history for guys to say their predecessors could beat them, and similarly the old timers to say That the younger guys would have won. There are however a few that break this tradition and speak what they feel. I know damn well anybody who has every dominated a division or multiple believes they are the best. That on their best night they could match the legendary fighters of the past, and prevail. Ali Himself broke this little trend, he told Joe Louis to his face that he could have whooped him. I can say honestly if I were to rise and become a champion, I too would believe I was the greatest, that I could have stood against anybody. Mayweather has obviously proven to himself that he could stand against his predecessors, both from a literally stand point and in reference to his achievements. Regardless of what we think, he believes this. I don't think he ever meant disrespect by saying these things.

    What an arsehole.

He mentions that many people believe that Ali lost all three fights to Norton.

He must also be aware that many people say the same thing about his own fights with Castillo and Maidana. Some even say it about DeLa Hoya.

He's just bitter because Ali blamed him for failing to make the Pacquio fight on twitter.

i just don't understand why mayweather wants to beat Marciano's record..

This is the problem with Boxing_B*tch. He claims he wants to have a healthy discussion regarding boxing but the moment someone differs with his personal opinion, he resorts to personal attacks. Nothing more but a troll.

Boxing_B*tch, when a fighter throws a straight right, what is the biggest mistake a fighter can make?

So you are basing your opinion off a verbal statement shane made instead of what actually happened in the ring?

I'm not denying shane said he wanted to quit, or that pac knocked him down. But I believe floyd did better work than pac did. Pac was missing a lot of shots, leaning in wreck less and could not cut off shane. Floyd actually brought the fight to shane and successfully cut off the ring and landing nice blows on shane. Both fights went 12 rounds, so I'm going to actually analyze a 12 round fight and not just 1 round where Manny did good . Again floyd walked down shane also, meaning shane was the one retreating but floyd was able to cut off the ring.

Recent interview, Shane also says him self that floyd put a better ass whopping on him than pac did. Mentions "floyd was able to cut off the ring unlike pac". Those words out of shane.
