The OP is right, I've done the math in an older thread. Floyd would be taking a pay cut fighting Pacquiao at 50/50 or even 60/40.

You've done the math? because you have the exact info on revenue streams for the fight, advertisement, ticket prices, venue size, PPV prices, endorsements, investors, contractual agreements and everything else that comes with a huge event of this size etc...?

This fight is still the biggest fight in boxing. To the people who know boxing, it's not what it was 4 years ago. To the casual fans, once they see Mayweather V Pacquiao on the right advertising, it will be a huge fight again. And let's be honest, all of us will be tuning in and excited once the fight date gets near.

I'm sure this fight will still generate a hell of a lot of money. No matter if the fighter are not as good as they were, their names along generate money so put them together, it will blow up.

Fight-wise, it's not even as interesting as it was 4 years ago, that's true. Fiancially for all those involved, i bet by the time fight time comes, i don't think it will be much different compared to what it was 4 years ago.

Putting these 2 names together even today creates a fight that reaches out well beyond your hardcore fan, it will reach the general public, most of whom don't know **** about boxing.

It would probably sell in the region of 3m buys, and thats even if the purchase price was a bit higher than Canelo-Mayweather

So I can see double the revenue coming in from PPV buys.

Fill out the MGM with pricey tickets for the biggest fight of the last 25 years, and theres quite a pot involved.

For the people saying the fight doesnt mean the same, its still CLEARLY the 2 best WW's in the world.

And arguably the 2 top p4p fighters.

It hasnt exactly dropped that much.

I know the fight will generate a lot but both Floyd and Manny want a higher purse and it isn't realistic, mainly Floyd I think. I don't have exact numbers just estimated, but it puts things into perspective. Based on current PPV sales, price, and purses. I used Mayweather vs Canelo as an example and went off of those numbers. Even at $75, for Floyd to not take a pay cut, they'd have to do 3+ PPVs or something, if they don't, Floyd takes a pay cut. He takes a pay cut because Pacquiao deserves a bigger % than say Canelo or Maidana. Even selling the PPV at $100, it'd still have to sell more than you'd expect and at $100, it'd do significantly less, especially now.

And you would know quite a bit about making **** threads:yep
This forum allows for your Tyson worshiping garbage, so another's garbage should be tolerated as well. Just fair play.

Now to get to OP's point, Floyd will probably have more money at the end of his career because he has more fame and avenues in boxing to generate income(super fights, promoting etc).

If you look at what other huge fights have made and look at the purse expectations for this fight, it is problematic. Part of the problem is people expect Pacquiao to get like three times what he normally makes, which really is only leaving Floyd with what 20-30% more than one of his fights? They really need to sweeten the pot for Floyd, he has no incentive.
