14 days he should be winding down from training, still doing some sparring. 14days is good, lets get it on already.

EDIT #6: Damning new evidence seems to indicate that Floyd used the banned substance ON FIGHT NIGHT:

If this is true, Floyd Mayweather's reputation is about to plummet even further than it already has in the wake of the failed Pacquiao negotiations.

, but if it turns out to be true, then not only is Richard Schaefer of Team Mayweather a hypocrite for asking Manny Pacquiao to take a test he wouldn't allow Shane Mosley (admitted drug cheat) to take, but now Floyd Mayweather would be seen as the ultimate hypocrite for using a banned substance himself while at the same time asking Manny Pacquiao to submit to testing for banned substances.

    (AKA

) is supposedly used by Mayweather to numb his hands so that he can punch harder/longer both during training for, and during, a fight. Mayweather has a long history of problems with his hands, and he reportedly has a prescription to use Lidocaine but the substance is not allowed by some boxing commissions (including Nevada's, apparently), at least, for boxers on fight night or a certain number of days before the fight (Pit said in a post it was like 7 days before a fight; don't know if this is true or not).

Wow. This is explosive if it is true.

Edit: It appears as though the drug in question is not banned in 49 states, but rather "some states." As of now, we know that it was banned for boxers in Nevada in 2004 at the time of the Oscar De La Hoya-Bernard Hopkins fight.

Edit #2: Have now added the phrase "training for" in the next-to-last paragraph to express that it appears that Mayweather uses Xylocaine leading up to, but not during, his fights. This seems to be what Mayweather has admitted to previously from what I can tell.

Edit #3: I am removing the rumor about PBF supposedly not wanting to fight at Cowboys Stadium. With newly-found information showing that Xylocaine (AKA Lidocaine) is (or, at least was in 2004) banned for boxers in Nevada, also, it makes no sense that PBF would want to stay in Nevada and avoid fighting in Texas because he could not use Lidocaine in Nevada in the first instance.

Edit #4: Changed "widely-banned" description of Lidocaine/Xylocaine in third paragraph to just "banned," because I don't know how many states besides Nevada apparently ban boxers from using the substance for boxing, at least on fight night.

Edit #5: Rewrote next-to-last paragraph to include info that Mayweather supposedly has always had prescriptions for his Lidocaine usage, as well as to point out that PBF has a documented history of hand problems. Also included info from a post by Pit in that paragraph.

Edit #6: See beginning of this post

Edit #7: Rewrote the next-to-last paragraph to say that Mayweather apparently used the banned substance both during training for fights and on fight nights, based upon the video contained in Edit #6.

It seems as though Lidocaine may, at one time, have been ok to use in boxing in the state of Nevada but this no longer seems to be the case.

Though Mayweather may have been following all of the NSAC rules according to the usage of Lidocaine (that is, using it when it may not have been banned and not using it when it was banned), Lidocaine is still, clearly, a PED and it was used by Mayweather to aid in his performance in the ring.

Further, the only reason Nevada or any other state athletic commission would ban such a substance -- particularly on the day of competition -- was that it was seen as a PED.

Finally, it must be remembered that drugs such as the steroid THG were, at one time, not banned by commissions. Only when they were discovered, fully understood and seen as clear PED's were they banned.

If someone had used THG before it was a banned substance, would you consider them a cheater?

If so, then Floyd Mayweather's usage of Lidocaine before it became banned in Nevada or other jurisdictions must all be considered in this context.

Floyd used the drug because it gave him a physical benefit which allowed him to unnaturally increase his performance in the ring (if it is true that he used the drug on fight night). That is essentially the definition of a PED.

I will continue to update this first post as more information becomes available and I am able to look the information up.

So, is Nevada the only state it's not banned in?

This is huge and horrible news if this is true. Just what we need, the P4P number 1 fighter accused of taking steroids, and the other P4P number 1 fighter taking some Xylocaine for his hands.
