It's technically not illegal afaik. The typical numbing drug Lidocaine is which is why he uses xylocaine. The fact that xylocaine is not illegal in Nevada and the coincidence that he only fights in Nevada now... well its not hard to do the math.

As I tried to explain to paulfv, why would we care if Floyd uses Lidocaine during training?

I think this was similar to the drug DLH was using in which he said he got a cut on his hand and needed pain killers something about not sure if he could pass the drug test I think the Hopkins fight.

Either way the article is published by a company based out of Glendale California, just a few miles away from home base for Freddy Roach, I wouldnt read too much into it, However I guess a banned substance is a banned substance if you want to look at it that way you can.

But in all honesty your really digging up some bull**** in order to justify Mannys recent actions and to me this is just kid **** right here.

Thats speculation, as long as he passes the commissions tests same with floyd seeing this post is referring to a product illegal i oter states. As long as they pass those tests its all fine. You want olympic random testing needs to be introduced my the commissions then there is no excuse

Plenty of boxers have been punished and fined for Lidocaine use in the state of Nevada. De La Hoya had to let the commission know about using Lidocaine (for an injury) for his Hopkins fight, so he wouldn't fail his drug test.

That could be a reason Floyd was so insistent on an outside entity handling the drug testing.

Or if you plan on taking a huge pay day then retiring. But Floyd would never do something like that.
