Its been known for a while that Canelo-Cotto was being planned for May 2. That is a fight where 2 promoters who floyd hates are pitting 2 of their biggest draws against eachother to give the fans on of the biggest fights that can be made.
Obviously, Floyd is trying to throw his weight around by insisting it must be on that date. He is saying he wants the fight, but then insists it must be on Showtime(exclusivly? Manny is under contract with HBO!), must be May 2, and Manny cant expect the same offer as last time, which was 40 mil.
It seems to me that Floyd is making it as impossible as possible for the other side to agree to a deal, while claiming he wants the fight. Then when the other side gets sick of all of his obvious road blocks and demands, they will walk away and Floyd will say they ducked.
How do you see it in all honesty? Do you think Bob is really ducking?

Bob and Oscar just did a number on him....since they teamed up to take away Floyd's May 2nd date! He has noone he can fight, that can compete with cotto-canelo! Oscar not making the Amir fight on that date either, he tried to pull a power move and my guy got over powered! Damn

Alvarez-Cotto will do huge businesses on May 2. Floyd-Manny will do just as well on June 6 as it would on May 2. Floyd is trying to push his weight around and prevent Arum and Oscar from maximizing their profits and also giving Bob the short end of the stick in a Pac fight. He is making things very difficult.
If Bob and Showtime offers the fight on June 6, but Floyd says it has to be May 2 or their is no fight, is Bob still the one ducking?

 

I dont think that would maximise the profits that could be made if they were 2 seperate events 1 month apart, but that still would be an amazing moment for boxing. Unfortunately, it would never happen:roll:
