    For the lazy...

HBO's Jim Lampley: Although in some states it is illegal, some fighters including Floyd had been known to inject numbing medicines into their hands
    This content is protected
, a measure that can give a boxer a short-lived but dangerous sense of confidence.

Margaret Goodman, M.D. (speaking as NSAC Medical Advisory Board Chairman): By numbing something out, you can't feel it. If you can't feel it,
    This content is protected
. And then you won't even know if you really injured it.

Read edit #7 in the original post. I just wrote it up.

If what Lampley said is true, Floyd is toast, at least from a public relations standpoint. Checkmate.

imo, this is just wrong even if its legal or illegal. a fighter can inject this prior to a fight with or without hand problems thus gaining an unfair advantage in a fight knowing that he can punch as much as he can without feeling pain in return.

No one has confirmed it's illegal in the NSAC. You even said it was LEGAL.

Now, if it was legal, the quote about DLH would mean that it would come out of the system in days, and would be fine before fight time.

If he used it prior to fight time, he would of been caught

Meaning Floyd has not been "caught" for using what you have said and I have read to be a LEGAL cream.

If it's not legal, than he would still have to be caught using it on fight night which would be more beneficial than not.

Comparing it to someone using EPO is no question.

Same goes for normal adrenaline from the body.

Lennox Lewis said he broke his hand fighting Tyson and he had to wait to KO Tyson because his hand hurt so bad. Once it numbed up he was able to complete the job.

I'm no Floyd fan, but I admire his skills. This thread is a feeble attempt by nuthuggers to create controversy. :patsch:lol:

    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/more_sport/article3019074.ece

At the bout organisational meeting run by NSAC on Wednesday morning, Gareth Williams, Hatton’s lawyer, asked Keith Kizer, the NSAC executive director, if lidocaine would be tested for. “We’d all seen the stories about Mayweather’s hands and we had heard rumours that he uses lidocaine,” Williams said. “So we just wanted to make sure that they complied with the rules and that it would be tested for.”
The request did not go down well with John Hornewer, Mayweather’s attorney. Williams said: “He responded by saying: ‘Well, what about grappling?’ I quite facetiously responded: ‘I didn’t think you could test for that.’”Kizer confirmed yesterday that lidocaine is banned for use by boxers within a week of a bout. “If lidocaine is injected,” he said, “the pain receptors in the boxer may not work and he may not know if he is hurt.” He also confirmed that lidocaine would be tested for after the bout, at the Quest Diagnostics laboratory in the city.

    ............

You're more than capable to see that it's illegal or morally wrong to use it, it's just you don't want to admit Floyd is caught and he is wrong.
