How exactly is it bullsh!t though if no talks were on going? It's not like they were they were trying to make the fight then Floyd goes "Oh hey Manny, you gotta leave Top Rank in order for us to fight". IIRC, he said this around June/July 2013 right? Wasn't this the time he was scheduled to fight Canelo?

On another note, how is Floyd saying MP gotta leave TR when he was was scheduled to fight someone already the same as Arum saying a cut would heal in time for JMM but not for Floyd? Or the stadium thing? At that time, both fighters were free.

Cotto-Canelo is more set in stone than the Pac-Floyd fight. Let us enjoy this real fight card than the fantasy Pac-Floyd fight that will happen only if one guy who acts like a diva decides it to happen.

As a Mexican, I demand to have pacquiao vs floyd may 2nd. Mexicans are hardcore fans of boxing and we want the best fight. Canelo cotto can wait.

Plus I don't see a issue with this, odlh and canelo said they would hold off on this date is pac and floyd agreed to fight. All of a sudden arum makes up this excuse and now the pactrolls are concerned for us mexicans lol.

There's not many situations in which would be disrespectful and it doesn't have to be exclusive. Floyd continually imposing on that date is no big deal as he was normally providing some kind of mega fight with a Mexican anyway or it was simply a fight everyone wanted anyway (including Mexicans). Though, this time is different, there is a bigger fight than he is willing to make involving a Mexican and he still wants that date to fight a fight that would not be as big or involve a Mexican, at this point him not stepping aside is just shrewd.

People act as if this fight date was originally an American one. It was not, ever, the fight date exist directly and was born because of a Mexican celebration, the entire tradition of having a fight on that date owes it's existence to that Mexican celebration known as Cinco De Mayo. So unless you're offering something obviously better, then it should be as Mexican as possible.

 

What you're saying makes a lot of sense and I agree, However, it hasn't been that way and there were no complaints. Why now. One fighter made that a big fight day and you know who that is. Because one fighter turned it into a big money day now it's all about Mexican pride. Come on man, It's all about money and that's the bottom line.

I won't try to keep this generic because it's not. It's about Canelo and Oscar's whining ass trying to step on Mayweather again. I have never heard Marquez or any other Mexican fighter make that claim. Personally ,I don't care because I watch fights I wanna see no matter what day they are held on. One other thing, why not hold it in Mexico, that will end all the controversy.
