You mean a lower % opponent connect rate I assume. Numerically Rigo gets hit by fewer punches than anyone in the higher echelons of the sport.

Yup that's why he needs to offer cotto the rematch to secure the may2 date? If he's earned the date, he can fight anyone aside from pac and still match the cotto-canrlo card. But no, he's trying a cheap tactic and is using cotto.

Talking sense isn't welcome on this forum. I agree 100%, the fact that these two haven't fought much earlier has been detrimental to boxing. Just imagine, no Ali v Fraser, no Ali v Foreman, no Hagler v Hearns or no SRL v Duran etc. These are the kind of fights that kept boxing alive, but promoters, world boxing institutions and boxers to a lesser extent, have held boxing to ransom. They are destroying boxing.

And people should accept nothing less. The consumer always has the last word. Stop paying for shizit and they will quit severing it. I will not pay 100-80 for a shizit fight. I rather get a bottle of cognac and a couple of nice cigars for that price.

I don't think Manny is being a diva. I don't think Manny cares what date he fights at, it's Bob Arum that cares because he wants that date to be for Canelo. It's all about Bob Arum and Floyd Mayweather at the moment & this May 2nd business should not be no where near as important to prevent the biggest fight from happening.

Bob Arum has got to swallow his pride and accept that May 2nd is Floyd's date right now. Atleast Bob will cash in big time with the pacquiao fight against Floyd. Floyd right now is the number one and Bob Arum has got to accept that.

I personally wouldn't be surprised though that if Bob Arum did accept May 2nd for Pacquiao and Floyd that Floyd will come up with another excuse anyway.

Yes, DLH picked that date and Mayweather has been following in the footsteps ever since. How much did both the Guerrero and Maidana fights make?, now compare them to other PPV stars in the sport and how much they made.

    Agreed

But most people on here aren't boxing fans, they just follow a few individual boxers and then only care about trolling strangers online

But they're probably kids so it's understandable

Yeah Im think Floyd is right up there, definately near the top. He is a very gifted fighter and right up there in my opinion. Only thing is, when someone calls themselves TBE, they can get others hypnotised by it. I look at what Floyd has done in the sport rather than what he calls himself, and he is a great boxer.
I would have been interested to see Floyd/Leonard at WW. 2 of my favourite fighters. The skill level in that match up would be crazy. I wonder if Leonard as a natural WW, may have been a bit big and strong, but I would not bet on it

I don't think either side wants it at the same time. Here's why.

In 2009 (negotiation for a 2010 fight), I don't think Floyd truly wanted it. Not YET. I think he stalled but did not expect the RBT to scare Pac off. Pacquiao would've taken the fight at this time. Roach, Arum, and Floyd, were all looking for advantages whether psychological or physical. Then it became a power-trip between Floyd and Arum. Remember, Floyd probably learned a lot from Arum. I think Floyd stalled because of the timing of the fight.

Fast forward to 2012. Say what you want about Floyd's "low-ball" offer, NO FIRST OFFER IS FAIR. A salesman will start high. If you're buying a house, you low-ball the seller. But if the $40 million was truly the issue, Arum wouldn't have said anything about a cut or a stadium or Floyd's license. Arum killed it in 2012.

2013, the fight should not have happened then.

2014 Looks to be Floyd stalling but willing, albeit on his terms.

2015 Arum AND Floyd. It seems like when one doesn't agree, the other immediately entertains other options.

Fact is, Floyd and Arum have destroyed the fight countless times. Both men want to be in charge.
