On the other hand the problem that Manny's got is that Haymon has the market cornered. Fights with Crawford and Garcia wont sell much. Arum has run out of in-house fights to feed him. He could go up to fight Canelo but he wont do that (i would actually favor Pac in this fight).

So they will both suffer greatly by not fighting each other.

cotto vs canelo is probably the closest. i would say as far as big and good for boxing, khan vs brook, ggg vs froch/chavez jr/ward, kovalev vs stevenson...none of these fights except cotto vs canelo would reach the casuals as much as pac vs may. khan vs brook and khan vs may would do well in the uk.
