You hit the nail on the head when it comes to Mayweather. I think the reason Floyd Mayweather despises Pacquiao as much as he does is because of pure jealousy. I think Mayweather feels he never got or gets the credit that he deserves. Then, Pacquiao comes along, the dude has losses, was on Mayweather's undercard, and people were showing him so much more attention and giving him so much more credit than Mayweather himself.

Then, I think it's gotten worse over the years. Mayweather is undefeated and money-draw, and Pacquiao was KTFO in 2012, and yet... Pacquiao is STILL more revered and given more credit than Mayweather.

Mayweather looks at himself as the best ever, and he looks at Pacquiao has a guy who's lost, got ko'ed, and still.... Pacquiao has endorsements Mayweather doesn't have, footlocker, nike. Pacquiao gets asked to meet the President (multiple times). Pacquiao gets asked to meet the Queen of England. Pacquiao gets asked to have dinner with Prince Harry. Pacquiao gets asked to judge extremely prestige events like Miss Universe. Pacquiao gets asked to carry his flag for the Olympics. People have made movies about his life. Pacquiao gets asked to do all these promotional events (Funny and Die, Skits with Jimmy Kimmel, 60 Minutes, Sing with Will Ferrell, skits of him at ESPYS, TMZ, Good Morning America, Good Morning New York, Good Morning LA, etc).

Mayweather is jealous. This goes back to when he was younger and felt that nobody recognized how special he was(and they were right), and it has carried on into now and seeing Pacquiao, a man who's lost devastatingly, get more attention and respect than him.

All Mayweather gets asked to do is make night and stripper club appearances, and Pacquiao is seen as such a more... revered figure. It has to hurt Mayweather's ego, pride, and feelings. He's the best, he's undefeated, he's the "almost" billionaire, why not him??? And that's where his hate and jealousy stems from.

It makes me feel bad for him. It has to hurt.

I remember reading an excerpt of "Right Hand of The Champ" and his past-assistant said how important it was to Mayweather to be relevant. He's wanted to be famous, and being famous is so important to him. Mayweather has to work to stay relevant. He has to win every fight because if he lost, he loses relevance. He has to trash talk to keep people interested. He has to put on such a bad-guy persona just to stay relevant. And yet, Pacquiao can lose a fight and not even try to be relevant and is still extremely relevant.

    It's literally a sad story.

You make me wanna break a violin with that sob story. There's a reason why they say it's lonely at the top. You think anyone in his position would throwaway everything he's earn just to get more respect from the masses? I don't feel the least bit sorry.

You can lose a fight and still be relevant is the moral of the story here. If Floyd fought Pacquiao and lost, he would gain respect at this point for taking the fight, unless Pacquiao just obliterated him, which is unlikely. He loses more and more of his standing and fanbase by his unwillingness to make the fight. And if his next fight is Cotto, watch the PPV numbers drop like a rock from the mark of their first fight.

Khan won't beat Pac, so it's a moot point.

You're really grasping at straws here.
