I think you are underestimating cotto/mayweather 2 a bit perhaps. not by much though.

But Khan Pac is a MUCH more interesting fight than Cotto Mayweather.

Cotto has beat NO ONE. Since he lost to Mayweather in 2012. There is all this bull**** that he is a changed fighter and so much better. Not that hard to look good when you are fighting a B-side and a world champion with no knees at all.

Cotto is pretty much the same. If he is tested anytime soon that will be apparent. When you meet a real challenge in boxing thats when the real you comes out.

I'm not sure. The most important people that are positive about the fight that I know of is Pacquiao, Mayweather, Espinoza, Arum, Koncz, Pugmire, Les Moonves, Sugar Ray Leonard, Mayweather's inner team(besides Ariza lol).

How would something like that be televised in the UK? Would that be a PPV type of event there?

If so, and since the thread title doesn't distinguish between US PPV and non US, I imagine the answer would be Khan-Pacquiao.

If not, and we are just talking US, it would be Floyd-Cotto II for the reason you stated.

Khan-Pac would be joke of a fight. The competitive level will be like that of a father beating his teenage son. And I don't think anyone wants to see a Cotto-Mayweather fight either. Anything but Pac-Mayweather will be BS, a robbery of the bored ppv customer.

Unfortunately the May-Pac fight is still up in the air, so assuming it is Khan-Pac and May-Cotto2, I'd pay for the Pac-Khan fight. I already paid for the May-Cotto fight, I don't see any reason to pay another $65 for what could very well be a replay of the 1st fight. The Pac-Khan fight also has that friendship-sparring partner angle they could work which could add interest in the fight.

Mayweather, Cotto, and Pacquiao don't have the fan base in the UK that Amir Khan does being a local fighter. Since he doesn't have as much juice in the sport I don't see any of them fighting in his backyard where he can get a hometown decision either. Mayweather draws biggest in Las Vegas. Cotto can draw best in New York. And Pacquaio is most popular in Asia or the US. If they fought in the UK they'd be throwing away money and might only make half as much.

Remember when Hatton fought Mayweather? The pay per view numbers in the UK were bigger than the ones in the US, and since Mayweather got the US receipts and Hatton got the UK ones he might have made more money than Mayweather off of their fight.

Plus, holding PPV fights in England without two British fighters is PPV suicide. Put Froch and Groves together and you get 14 million dollars. Brits don't like pay per view on principle but every now and then they can be had. Usually, they don't bite. PPV is mostly an American business model, and if you held the fight in Britain with like an eight or so hour time difference everyone in America will be asleep or eating breakfast or something when the fight airs. You will never get 1/3 as many buys in the US the primary audience for the fight. That's partially why Pacquiao's numbers were down so much when he fought in Macau, China.

Then you have all the trouble of doing promotion in America while you are training and fighting in the UK. To get acclimated to the environment fighters usually have a camp in the country they fight in two months in advance. It wouldn't be like they could break camp, get on a plane, fly to America to do talk shows. They could only get on British television.

It just doesn't make any sense.

Floyd better not fight Cotto, after he talked about his "big surprise", and how he called Pac out the least he could do is fight Khan a style he's never faced. I will definitely boycott the Cotto fight, no one wants to see that bs, it's not as close to as much bs as pac/algieri, or pac/rios, but it's still bs.
