Never a sure thing until they're both in the ring. I'll at least wait till it's formally announced.

Floyd definitely approach him physically, but Manny sent Koncz over to invite Floyd over at Halftime, and Floyd obliged. At least, that's what Fight Hype says.

The first sentence Pac says to Floyd, "Why wont you fight me."

    That's what has been reported.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Floyd was about to fight Cotto but because of all the negative reactions from, well everywhere, he was forced to make the fight happen. It seems kind of weird that the 2 main issues he had were actually easy for them to resolve. I don't see how that could have been such a big stumbling block for the networks to come to an agreement on their own.

at the end of the day, it matters none who approached who. If their meeting at the game and at the suite brings us the fight, who gives a **** if it was Floyd who approached Pac or vice versa.

@rickyusc13 @YahooSports It's up to him but I don't believe he'd do that. Super Bowl will drown it out quite a bit

Mayweather Vs Pacquiao will be the biggest sporting event in history (before the fight, not referring to what happens during it). If it's on Super Bowl sunday, I feel bad for the those guys who have to play football on May/Pac Sunday.

Lmfao @ the arguments about who approached who. Who gives a ****?

I think one thing is obvious; Mayweather isn't 'scared' of Manny Pacquiao. This guy is a professional boxer. Add to that that Mayweather is also an undefeated professional boxer, only even being challenged once in several years by Maidana whom he easily shutout in a rematch.

Mayweather's just a ****. He wants to win the fight before it even begins, and wants to cite it as "business". He's just being a stubborn child about it, but Mayweather IS the obvious favourite if they ever fight and he's professionally fought nearly 50 people now. It's not fear.

Pacquiao needed or needs to get a little bit more selfish and stop putting trust in his managers. That's where MMA has an advantage. MMA fighters are rarely "businessmen" with PR. They are just dudes who fight. Pacquiao wouldn't say to Arum "FFS just say yes to everything. I don't care".

Mayweather probably wasn't going to give Pac an inch with the contract, and it was likely lies from Arum that Pac's team had agreed to a contract (as they likely didn't know the details of the discussions). Mayweather talking to Pacquiao to sort the fight shows that Mayweather wasn't trying to win the fight before the boxing match against Pacquiao, but against Arum. He probably said to Pacquiao "Man, forget this promotion ****. You want to fight, I want to fight. You agree to the money and testing. Here's the date and the arena, let's do it man". Pacquiao, being more of a fighter than businessman, probably was like "You're right" and Mayweather fuked over Arum's plans.

Now it seems like Pac is calling the shots, which essentially means Mayweather is ultimately calling the shots. If the chain of command is truly Mayweather > Pacquiao > Arum, as long as Mayweather has the final say and Pacquiao is above Arum then we're going to see the fight.

Man, if it happens though. I remember I couldn't believe I was actually seeing Haye and Klitschko. This weekend I'm not going to believe I'll actually be watching Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz. That's my #1 MMA fight of all time, but it probably won't even compare to the excitement of May and Pac.

No backing out for either of these fighters. No where else to go. In my opinion this fight is already made, the announcement is being prepared already. May the best man win.
