When you have a contract with a promotional company, they are for all tense and purposes your boss. So unfortunately, you will or will not fight who they say. Its' the fact of the sport my friend.

 

Mosley, JMM, & Bradley had to sign with TR just to get the fight with Manny. Floyd is the first boxer in forever who doesn't have to march to the beat of Arum's drum. Arum isn't use to it which it why we hear him ***** and gripe so much. He's isn't use to not being the A-side and getting it his way.

Some track record. Floyd was begging for a fight with DLH for years and Arum's answer was, "it's not in the cards." Floyd leaves and the fight is made almost immediately becoming one of the biggest money makers in history of sporting events. Arum went past his prime years ago.

 

I feel arum was in the way of this fight in the past, but dude is so smart and even at 84, he can still run circles around many heads. I believe he was even using the false announcement strategy for 2 reasons: too pressure floyd, as well as get people hyped up for the fight. He knows he's going to get called out later, and even uses that 'bob is lying' brand to keep us interested. I don't think he was sabotaging the fight, but using his wiles to pressure floyd, and promote.
In a sense bob was lying about lying as of late to promote. He knows people think he's a snake. I could be wrong, and he could be off his rocker, and trying to sabotage, but that's what I believe now, as I think the fight goes through, and a big part is that he knows it's time to cash out... Plus I feel bob has the foresight to realize truth comes out eventually, and he doesn't want to be the one remembered as who held up the fight of history.
