My non biased view (although I do want Pacquiao to win) is Mayweather gets the win with a UD.

You can't beat Floyd by keeping it in the middle of the ring, you have to maraud, back him up and rough stuff him against the ropes and keep him there. I don't think Manny is strong enough and big enough to do that like Maidana did. Manny likes to fight at distance too, can see that playing into Floyds hands.

I think Manny may drop him for the first time in his career, and the reach of his left hand may take Floyd by surprise, but I think when all the build up is done and the fight is over, we'll be thinking "we waited 6 years for that?" as it's almost impossible to live up to expectations.

I hope Manny wins, but I think Mayweather will have too much ring IQ overall. Hope I'm wrong though.

Manny also usually dominated middle of the ring so ring generalship will be interesting.

The concerns about Mayweather's reach and size advantage are IMO, unfounded. Pac has beaten bigger fighters (DLH,. Margareito, Rios, Algieri) and bullied heavier fighters (bradley). I don't think weight is the necessary ingedrient to attack mayweather, it's ability to punch and quickness. Maidana isn't that much bigger than Pac anyway, Pac can definitely attack Mayweather and push him back.

The first few rounds will tell us a lot;i.e., who has the upper hand in ring generalship, who is more cautious, more surprised by what the other brings. Mayweather may test Pacquiao early on by walking him down, thinking bigger size matters, but when PAcquiao unleashes fast powerful combinations, Floyd may quickly turn defensive. I don't think floyd will continue walking Pacquiao down when Pac is unleashing flurries....

as far as meeting expectations, it is impossible for Manny and Floyd to meet the incredibly unrealistic expectations for this fight. having said this, i think the chances of this being a dud are low. Pacquiao is arguably the most exciting fighter in the last 10-20 years at least and he will bring it, no matter what Floyd does. ALgieri ran like a little girl and still tasted the canvas 6 times.. floyd will not run as much as Algieri and i also think Floyd will be under enormous pressure to impress, so he will press action more, or try to. I just cannot see how this fight can be boring... Stakes are too high and both will try and show their best.

Before the fight was signed all i heard was Floyd is a coward and is afraid for his life and will never fight Manny.............Then he personally goes to Manny at the Heat game and then goes to his hotel room to take charge and make the fight and it gets made.....now all i hear is stupid excuses and people who actually seem to not even want the fight to happen...why all the negativity?

if you were around the forums before floyd signed mosley you would see what you are seeing today, just this time its on a larger scale

mosley was a monster, mayweather wont fight him he is a much bigger and stronger WW, as soon as the fight got signed alot of people changed there tune (to be fair alot still said mosley was going to win) but after the fight... its like mosley was rod salka all of a sudden, he was old, he was shot, etc etc

to a lesser extent we seen canelo get the same treatment (though alot of people just say he was green/weight drained from 1lb), even though canelo after the mosley fight said he was not ready for mayweather just yet, he took his time and when he felt ready he took the may fight only to lose a very lopsided decision

you know manny is one of if not the most well known active boxer in the world today, he has legions of loyal fans around the world, im actually amazed the ones on this boxing forums have allready jumped off the bandwagon before the fight (which is what they all asked for, hell its what we all asked for). atleast the casual fans still got his back, i know a few pinoys around my area loyal to pac.

when my west coast eagles arent making the top 8 in footy i dont just stop wearing the jersey to training, i dont go and find another team to follow that are doing well, i stick with my boys!!!

and the best part of all this, the idiot "fans" of pac said for ages that floyd would never fight pac but if he ever did hed have a long list of demands

    - no pacs mum at the fight

    - 14oz winnings for the fight

and so far none of that bull**** has come to fruition, actually he has signed to fight with 8oz and manny gets his choice of brand (so he gets his fav cleto reyes while may gets his grant)

these haters cant even give him an ounce of credit for this let alone admit they were wrong

but im just a floyd fanatic right? im not reporting facts right ? *sigh*

you know recently floyd came out and said "he does not like to entertain bull****" thats why he never responds to rumors (which almost always turn out to be false) and i felt like "man why doesn't this guy just clear the air with this bull****" and then you start to see why. floyd knows there is no way for him to escape the bull****, so he just does not entertain and acknowledge it

    if you created a poll:
Do you want the fight to happen? y / n

I bet you'd find the overwhelming majority vote 'yes'. Like 90% (there'd be some delusional Brits that will claim Mayweather is ducking Khan, and then some weirdo EEs who will claim that Mayweather is somehow ducking GGG but they're outliers.)

You know how when you're thinking about buying a certain type of car (or just bought one) and suddenly you see that same type of car everywhere? You're going to find what you're looking for but it doesn't mean that 'all' you hear is excuses, just that you're more conscious of them now. Just like there aren't suddenly more of your car on the road, just that you're more aware of them.

    At least that's my guess.

"To me, it's just another day. It's just another fight. I mean, when you just look at the tale of the tape, I have a longer reach, I'm taller, I'm stronger, and I'm more accurate. I think I seen a major change in Pacquiao...I took my time, I made the right move, and I'm just ready to go out there and be exciting. Be smart and be exciting. I mean, he's a fighter just like I'm a fighter, and he's a guy that's out there to win.
