Neither do forearm shivers score points except for Floyd in Vegas How about Cortez taking a point from Hatton when it was Floyd that illegally ducked his head outside the ropes to avoid a punch the blow hit the top rope never touched Floyd
Dirty tactics & home cookin are Floyds biggest assets

PAC says Floyd's handspeed doesn't coordinate with he's footspeed. He believes he has the advatage there. Thoughts?

This is why Manny will win. His footwork will cause Floyd some trouble. Floyd has to move or face a barrage of punches. Mark my words -- Manny will be all over Floyd.

One of the more common misconceptions is that Mayweather will heavily rely on the shoulder roll against Pacquiao. If anyone watches Mayweather's past fights against southpaws, he shelves the shoulder roll in favor of a high guard. He's also more relatively aggressive when he uses the high guard. He knows that the shoulder roll won't be as effective against southpaws (especially fast southpaws), he's a smart guy. Case in point, he got rocked by a Judah left because he was in a shoulder roll stance, leaving him open to a left down the pipe.

Bottom line, he's not gonna use the shoulder roll, at least not in the majority of the fight. Freddy should notice this and tailor their gameplan accordingly, or else Manny might be surprised as to why Floyd isn't shoulder rolling and instead peppering him with straight right hand leads off the high guard.

    :roll::lol:

Yeah, because that's what's important...because I'm so proud to have my name on this rubbish heap. Such a quality achievement. :blabla

I am actually thinking about deleting the entire enchilada after May 2nd. No skin off my ass - I only have a couple hundred posts in here and the majority of those are defending the need for the merge-dump. There are over a hundred people with even more posts. Roughly ~90 with several hundred, plus a dozen or so sad souls hopelessly obsessed with this overrated & overdue excuse for a "superfight", with more than a thousand posts on the subject (boxing_master taking the cake with 2,119)

The vast majority of that hundred represents that absolute dregs of the worst extreme elements of both fan bases (and thus some of the worst and most disruptive posters on the forum, who if left unchecked would make it an uninhabitable Mayweather-Pacquiao wasteland with their incessant flaming and childish mud-slinging)

It'll be good riddance to bad rubbish if I do delete this after the fight.

It will also be hilarious, because in the future, people looking at BN24 will find it odd that nobody on here ever mentioned the fight during the several years' worth of build-up. :blood :rofl

    That is an excellent point.

He gets a bit typecast, on both defense and offense. People forget he can do more than just shoulder roll and shoot lead rights.

He does employ the high guard to great effect when needed, just as he can also jab very well if need be. He just rarely has occasion to do either as he can stick with the more comfortable Plan A for most opponents. You get people saying things like "Floyd has no jab" or "Floyd has a terrible jab", though, and that isn't true. He isn't going to be dominating any elites with just his jab, no, but it's a potent (if underused) part of his ****nal when he deigns to incorporate it. Likewise, the key to picking him apart isn't to simply take away the shoulder roll. He can box without it. If your whole game plan is centered around beating it, you're going to be in for a rude awakening when he gives you a completely different look.

I agree if Bayless is allowed to officiate then Floyd wil be given carte blanche to hold , forearm shiver &:| all he wants while Bayless will beyelling "STOP" every time Manny attacks like he did in Maidana 2

How much credit would you give Floyd if he fought and beat Pacquiao and Bradley back to back?

Considering that some might call them all top 5 at welterweight and that Mayweather vs. Pacquiao will itself be #1 vs. #2, that ought to be enough to solidify Mayweather as lineal/Undisputed champion and the greatest welterweight of his era.

Of course, if he went that route I would hope that he relinquished the 154lb belt to let actual light middleweights compete for it and iron out some clarity in that division.

Manny's technicality is very underrated... he is known as a slugger who punches in different angle with speed and power, but behind all of that there is the technically of Manny Pacquiao, he does not punch without purpose and that he plans his attack. :D

There's been a lot talk about the corner men giving advantage to either fighter. My take on that is:

Neither fighter will take much notice on whoever is in the corner. They are the two best fighters in the division for this era and they will do what they think they have to do to win this fight.

It is absolutely awesome to have a father of a son in the corner for probably biggest fight of this decade.

It is absolutely awesome to have one of the best trainers of this era in the opposing corner in this fight.

The set up is perfect. I am just hoping that Mayweather will not spoil the fight by making it a touch and avoid kind of spoilfest.

Re-watching Canelo and thinking... if that Floyd Mayweather shows up... how bitterly Pacquiao would lose. Absolutely amazing.
