Why would Mayweather have to dare to be something that he already was? :huh:patsch

Nowdays that's really a weak argument. I laugh when Mayweather brings up that mumbo jumbo about he being the fighter that has beaten more world champions in history.

Its the era he's fighting in. An era of muli-alphabet groups, interim and Super Champions to boot.

When you can have 4 and 5 champions per weight division, its not much of an accomplishment to have on your resume that you've beaten champions.
That just doesn't mean nearly as much as it once did.

If you want to be real about it, most defensive types don't even get out of their defensive mode vs an upper tier fighter.

Pernell Whitaker certainly didn't and he has losses because of it.

When you have an A tier fighter constantly on the attack, and the defensive fighter is afraid to get out of his defensive mode for fear of leaving openings, the defensive fighter often pays for it and starts losing rounds.
Happened to Whitaker vs Chavez, DLH, and Trinidad.

Just so happens Floyd Mayweather fought in an era where he didn't have fighters of that caliber or he'd have losses on his record as well.
Hell, a well past it DLH was pretty close to beating him.

So to answer the thread starters question, Mayweather does make adjustments, just not at the level his fans think he makes them at.
Just hasn't had that type of competition.

    Mayweather doesn't fight for free.

Easy, Floyd ecummulated greatness by beating a **** load of B world class fighters/paper champs and a few over the hill greats. His amazing ability was also a factor.

He still never dared to be great. Daring to be great would be him fighting a guy where he would be a mega underdog and win or lose he would be respected.

For example Duran stepped up out of his prime weight to face prime SRL who went on to become the second greatest Welter of all time. Duran past prime also faced monster punching Hearns and gave prime Hagler a hell of a fight, Hagler being arguably the greatest middleweight of all time. Duran way past prime then went on to face a huge middle who had just came off knocking out Hearns twice and beat him. This is Daring to be great. Floyd is great but he never dared to be great.

Pac is younger than Floyd. Now for the lame excuses...What a troll.

Listen noob. Real boxing fans know some fighters age better than others due to multiple factors. I'm no Pac fanboy but in his defence he had many more 'real' fights than Floyd and carried himself up from a much lower weight so his prime was cut shorter than Floyds. Both Floyd and Pac were past prime but Pac was way off the destructive force he once was.

How many wars was Floyd in with ATGs? Ever? How many did Pac have? Do wars affect your career longevity? Do trolls ignore facts?

His ability to adjust is very good, but it is still overrated.

He made the same mistakes and showed the same vulnerabilities without adjusting much at all in the second Maidana fight. The reason why Mayweather beat Maidana in the second fight more so than in the first (which I had a draw) is because Maidana had the terrible gameplan of trying to box him for longer in the centre of the ring.

Also, past prime DLH gassed out after round 8. He was known even when prime to have stamina issues across the stretch.

    Food for thought -
Mayweather got tagged a LOT by Victor Ortiz before Ortiz turned gay and ended up on ***** street that night...if Mayweather was behind closed doors with Ortiz, he would have tried something. Floyd calls him Victoria for a reason, it's projection. Mayweather also went on holiday to Bora Bora with Justin Bieber, a 21 year old at the time. This was the same time Bieber got snapped by paparazzi, naked.

This. He just plays 'it/tag' as though he's in a playground.

No kidding, cuz he's a low tier great.

His resume is way below Floyd's and Floyd destroyed him. :hi:
