Duran had superb defensive ability, I would argue that his defense was just as good as Mayweather's; but he did it on the front foot and was always in punching range.

However Duran's defence was secondary to his aggression and offence skills and that's what catches the eye; therefore it sometimes goes unnoticed.

Not knocking Floyd, but Duran was just as good defensively, more skilled over all and a whole lot more entertaining to watch.
