Pac's supposed to be a "national hero" ... but I feel like he does nothing but hide behind the skirts of his fans. First they ride dick on the testing issue, now they think Pac should get 50 for NOT being Mayweather.

Bottom line, if the situation was reversed, Mayweather would be getting ridiculed every night in every sports outlet on the planet.

Wow, some people really are hard headed...
Let me give you an example that's easy to under stand.

Two guys are selling furniture. #1 has worked there 5 years and has been selling furniture consistently at a rate of $5000 per week. #2 has worked there for 5 years and was only selling at a rate of $3000 per week. But this year #2 improves his ability and starts selling $5000 per week also.
Now guess what? They both are making the same thing now. What does it matter what either did in previous years when they both are selling the same amount now?

This is the point. The difference between what Pac and Floyd can do today isn't that big a difference. Certainly not 60-40 difference, and sure as hell not worth holding up negotiations over.

The problem with that analogy is that #1 did $5000 and #2 did $2500.

Pac and May aren't selling the same, Mayweather has consistently outsold Pac. The only time Pac has done really well in PPVs is when he fought another headliner. May makes money against anyone. Marquez was nobody from a PPV standpoint and neither was Mosley or Hatton. The Pac/DLH fight proved that DLH himself brings 1 to 1.2 million PPVs so Mayweather brought 1.2 million to the table and has been selling ever since.

700K is a far shot from 1.2 mil.

"Not that big a difference"... Quantify that statement please. Here is some data to help you to do so:

1 PPV buy = $50 (approximately. the fight actually sells for $59)

Mayweather outsold Pac's last fight by 700,000 buys.

    700,000 x $50 = $35,000,000

Mayweather fought the B side of Pac's A side opponent (Cotto). Pac got 1.25 million buys. Mayweather got 1.4 million buys. He outsold Pac by 150K.

    150,000 x $50 = $7,500,000

    $35,000,000 + $7,500,000 = $42,000,000 is the difference in revenue.

So on what planet is $42,000,000 "not a big difference"? I know... Pacanus.

Learn to do math properly man. You used the Mosely numbers twice.
    PBF/JMM outsold Pac/Clottey by about 300k.
    PBF/Mosely outsode Pac/Cotto by about 150k.
Combine them and it's about $22.5 million.

But guess what? You're throwing out numbers without context. I love how people try to play off Marquez like he was a non factor. He's a popular Mexican fighting on Mexican independence day. He may not be a draw on his own, but people will come out to see him fight someone as popular as Floyd. Not to mention it was Floyd's comback fight. Without the two last points, the fight would not have generated the 1mill and would have been closer to the Pac/Clottey numbers.

floyd has outsold pac on all common opponents, and has been part of the two highest non-heavy ppvs

so, say what you will, but floyd's a bigger draw

that being said, just take the damn 50/50 so we can see a fight

Yes I agree that Floyd's a bigger draw. The point is that the gap isn't as wide as perceived. 50/50 is enough that both won't go home feeling ripped off.
And yes I agree make the damn fight.
