Funny enough mate I was gonna mention or recently seen Kell Brook popping it one handed. All roads lead to Kell's gaff.
It's brillient. Very underused these days you're right. For me it's only second to the heavy bag in importance. It works your hand eye coordination, reflexes, keeping an eye on a moving target and also helps you work your peripheral sight and visualization. So many benefits. Mexican fighters use it best these days. I love the way Marquez works it. I swear he gets his counter punching abilities sharpened with the floor to ceiling. By coming back at you it sort of mimics counter punching someone. It's like sparring without having to get hit.
:good With me, all the male members of my family are boxing fans. The ole man wanted me to become a fighter and took me to the gym but after doing it for a little while alas it never worked out in the long term. Just wasn't to be. Mainly for really personal reasons. But i probabily wouldn't have been good enough to even be a decent journeyman anyway. I hope to go into training soon. But who knows if that will happen...i'm so far away from it now as my life has taken a different direction. I also will be training my young son once he's old enough. His nickname is already Sugar Ray.
Now THAT'S what i'm talking about. Duran was awesome on the speedbag. He was even better jumping rope. So many people don't realise how athletically gifted Duran was and the great rhythm he had. His jumping rope routine was just ridiculous.

Good stuff, Luke. Short, sweet and to the point. I'd say LL had good feet though for his size. And he was actually decent on the inside. He could throw short punches there and punch in and out of clinches. Bowe is spot on.
I read the bowe entry in the encyclopedia on here, and his hooks and uppercuts on the inside were great to watch from such a big guy. His commitment and heart to ensure he lands them was fantastic.
It's the only weakness he had, in terms of his physical stature and boxing ability there were no weaknesses at all. For someone remarkably mentally strong it's baffling how he'd have such a weakness for Leonard - by all means hate him (I'm not keen myself tbh) but it consumed his career. Might be fair to say that it made him, but also broke him at the end. I've watched that fight once, it's gathering dust somewhere at my mum's house. Won't be watching it again.
