Check out this pull counter, from 3:30 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a664vyjFzgk&feature=related[/ame] There is no blueprint.
Talking of Ray Leonard, I've just started a thread in the classic compiling his career together gathering all the videos I could on youtube together. I aim to put articles with each fight eventually but 1 step at a time. Here is the link: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?p=12408830#post12408830 I'm hoping to do one every couple of weeks and them post a big thread with all the links in so as there is an easy access thread to every great boxer and all their fights inside. Feel free to add anything or sprout some ideas on how to make it better etc
Ray's finish of Lalonde was brutal. Donny actually joined in an FB conversation a couple of weeks ago about that fight. He was saying how he'd been stupid agreeing to the double-weight fight, but would have been even more stupid to turn down the payday and the chance to fight a legend. He also said he had the upper hand, but the weight and Leonard's craftiness did him in. I think he said "Yeah, he hit me with a couple of good shots, lol!"
That was good of him, mate. Btw. A good fight to look at for those who think catchweights only came along with Manny Pacquaio.
I like Marquez as a finisher...... the stoppages of Casamayor, Diaz and Katsidis were all clinical. Hardly a punch wasted. A fight with Morales around 2005 would have been a dream matchup.
Speaking of finishers, I'll digress slightly to ''wreckers'', seen as I mentioned Marquez. Which fighters have ended their opponents, with a dominant/wear down stoppage or clear win, for them never to be the same again? Marquez - Diaz, Katsidis Hopkins - Trinidad, Pavlik, Pascal, De La Hoya, Taylor, Tarver Trinidad - Reid, Vargas
