The Allen/Ortiz fight is a complete joke.

Chisora/Whyte even haven't fought yet lol. But yeah this is a **** fight but at least Ortiz is keeping busy. That said the winner of Chisora/Whyte will probably face Joshua. Looking like Hearn might be taking a page out of Don Kings playbook and will try to keep Ortiz away from Joshua at all costs.

 

Chisora and Whyte are already facing each other and not available.
What you may not realise due to the immense talent of the UK HWs is that there is only around 40 of them, whereas in the USA there is between 3 to 4 hundred of them.
The UK HW scene is the top level at HW. Fury, Haye and Joshua are arguably the top 3 HWs in the world and then the UK has other talented HWs like Chisora, Whyte, H Fury, Price etc.
Ortiz has been based in America where it is not as tough as the level in the UK.
It is probably wise to test Ortiz out with a UK HW outside the UK top 5 because anything inside the UK top 5 is a big ask for most HWs

 

That is because Hearn knew that AJ was going to blow them away. Ortiz is another story so it makes sense to build that fight up to be as lucrative as possible.

 

Y'all are a trip. Does the average person walking around the UK know who Luis Ortiz is? Hearns gonna have him fight 2-4 cans then hopefully go through Klitschko/AJ/Wilder in any order. Plus he needs to get a nice looking KO so.

 

Ortiz can do things in the ring AJ hasn't gotten to yet. He is much more fluid offensively and defensively. Ortiz takes punches a lot less and a lot better. Better footwork. AJ more of a hitta though. Ortiz has sharper punches.

 

Do they know who Molina is though? Joshua fights are now PPV off the back of his name alone, I'm afraid...

 

You guys are assuming Allen was Hearns first choice. how many fighters are willing to get into the ring with Ortiz on 2 weeks notice?

 

I know. Imagine you have someone on the fence of ordering the ppv, and they hear the opponent is the dutch baker Wilder fought, they're less likely to buy that sh1t. But if they hear he's gonna fight Luis Ortiz, who they've been seeing on their TVs? More likely to buy

 

Oh I'm not. I was skimming through the thread and it seemed as if people were posting the first thought that came to their mind. I don't know what is happening in this situation but I decided to try and put some perspective on it.

 

True. But then AJ more likely to lose to Ortiz and then the gravy train derails. Hearn wants to delay AJ's first loss for as long as he can and as long as he can get away with match-ups like Molina.

But if I was gonna stick my neck out, as of right now, I'd bet on Ortiz but without any great deal of conviction.

 

AJ got his chin checked by Dylan Whyte on a check hook. Ortiz punches hard and sharp, proactively and countering. I think AJ is still too robotic for Ortiz.
