I just was flipping through the channels when I seen Jim Grey was removed from the golf channels coverage for getting into a confrontation with Bobby Brown, who is Dustin Johnson's caddie. Reports say Bobby Brown showed up late to the course. Causing Johnson to be penalized 2 strokes. Grey would later call him out about it, which caused both men to get into a heated arguement where profanity was used by both men. As we all have seen in the past, Grey is never too shy to say whats on his mind. We all remember his altercation with James Toney, where James angry about Grey's line of questioning. Smacked the mic out of Grey's hand, and when Grey went to pick the mic. James thought Grey was coming up on him, which caused more drama in the ring that night. Grey has been accused of doing this throughout his career, Pete Rose and Allen Iverson has also been victims of Grey's wrath when it comes to his interviewing. Reports say Grey will be back in action after the Northern trust tour is over, but some fans want to see him gone from the golf channel for good.
While I agree that Jim Gray has a caustic approach, he asks the difficult questions that need to be asked. No one will ever accuse him of being soft or vanilla.
He doesnt always ask the best questions and can seem wreckless and even arrogant. I though he was out of line when interviewing Pascal after the Hopkins fight. Hes also know for cutting guys off mid sentence.
one of my favorite gray moments [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHyL1lF7kYY[/ame] i still remember meeting gray at a patriots game as a teenager when he was working for nbc...was a few weeks after tyson/holyfield 2.....first thing i said to him was "what the hell was that like...." and i just remember him saying something like "mikes actually a good guy....its the people around him....john horne"
hed interviewed pete rose during the world series....rose was named to the all century team and they had a ceremony before one of the games....he was pretty aggressive and turned the focus to his gambling scandal
