Larry for a sucker for the overhand right counter. Wlad would've knocked him out. Lennox Lewis would've knocked him out even earlier after losing a couple of rounds. Styles. Lennox's jab wasn't as good as Larry's or Wlad's but he was a more aggressive fighter, especially when he was backed into a corner and down on the cards. The Briggs, Mercer, Vitali & to some extent Mirovic fights showed what Lewis was made of. Real Champs win when they aren't supposed to.

Havent started yet... starts May 15th... but the pre training training camp is going well. Talked to wlad today on the meal plan and weight lifting.... RIGHT ON TRACK:good

No, Holmes never got ko'd by bums, he just huged novice fighters with only 10, 12 and 14 pro fights through too a gift decision.

This idea that there's some anti-white press is nonsense. Wlad was given every chance by the mainstream press yet he blew it.

The biggest differences are probably an iron chin, unbelievable stamina, composure and boxing skills, and then power.

Some of you'll live on a different planet where there's "racism" against white fighters and/or athletes in general. If you want make it a case of American vs non-American, fine, but don't spew this garbage that them being white as the reason. If you want to take nationality out of the equation and look at white American fighters and how they're treated, your argument collapses. The fact is if there was a white American fighter with the talent of Floyd Mayweather he would never have had to resort to becoming a heal in order to get attention.

I know Holmes competition wasn't that great, the point of my post was that his comp was easily comparable to either Klit, yet he never lost.

You can't say the same about either brother despite all the scorecard whinings. That affects their standing big time in America and it has nothing to do with race as was my original point.

The era of Holmes was weaker than the current division. Former Soviet fighters weren't allowed to compete back when Larry was the man.

 

Are you seriously suggesting that Lewis wasn't supposed to win against Briggs, Mercer, VITLAY or Mavrovic?

History lesson, he was favourite in all those fights and won them all despite the odd moment of adversity. 10 years later, the Klits would consider shot Mercer and Briggs as significant wins...it's akin to Tyson beating up on Holmes only Tyson did a proper job which is why he's respected much more than the brothers.
