Joe Frazier + Beat Muhammad Ali + Lost to George Foreman = Great champion.

Wladimir Klitschko + Beat Chris Byrd + Lost to Corrie Sanders = Not a great champion.

That's the difference. They are their best wins and biggest defeats.

no one knows or cares about the klits in north america. there is no bias because no boxing fans there care to watch their borefests, has nothing to do with bias, if they were knocking people out or involved in semi exciting fights they'd be heroes in the US

Excellent post again Jack. It is obviously hard reading for a Wlad fan, but everything you have stated is the absolute truth when it comes to him as a fighter. You explain what the heavyweight division should mean, and what it has meant to people throughout history brilliantly.
Has i always say, Wladimir is an excellent heavy who is unfortunate there is a serious lack of competition for him out there to prove his worth against, and to dispel any doubts about him as a fighter. I hope Haye proves this wrong in July, but i can't see it. That is not a sleight on Haye has a fighter, just has a heavyweight. And with Wlad's opposition being poor, the man rarely delivers a stellar, eyecatching performance against these mediocre opponents. Something he should be doing, or trying to do! That bothers me!
What also bothers me and a lot of other people(that includes americans), is the manner of his losses. The way he capitulated under pressure, and for the most part not from clean punches.eg;Sanders and Brewster. Klitschko fans will instantly point out that these losses were a long time ago and Wlad is a different fighter now, but the fact is that these are blackmarks and holes in his career that will always be remembered. Just as losses for other men are blackmarks on their records.
Wlad fans want to pick at and point out other top heavies losing as a similarity. Like Frazier losing to Foreman, or Tyson to Douglas, or Lewis in his two losses. They all get mentioned. But look at the difference in the way these men lost as opposed to Wlad.
Frazier showed tremendous heart in getting back up from Foreman's punches, and still kept coming forward trying to hurt George (to his detriment). Then he was game enough to step back in the ring with the man who had already destroyed him in that fashion.
Tyson who took a pounding from Douglas never stopped looking for the KO himself, and took his beating like a man.
Lewis was trying to put serious hurt on McCall which led to him walking onto a bomb. In the loss to Rahman he was leading and mostly busting Rahman up, infact Hasim looked like he was losing belief until he landed that peach on an overconfident Lewis who was struggling with the altitude.
Yes these are KO losses just like Wlad's. But not in any of them losses did you see these men grabbing and holding with morbid fear on they faces, and knowingly take the safety of the canvas has an option. These men were stopped because their were seperated from their senses or were stopped on their feet. A virtually cowering heavyweight champion is not something a boxing fan feels comfortable seeing.
If Wlad had a motivated, capable adversay in front of him again who could penetrate his defence, and make him fight a little, then i have serious doubts that he would come through it. That is the lingering thoughts of a great deal of boxing fans from all over the world, whether Klitschko fans like it or not.
Wlad is an excellent heavyweight and a good technician, but like you say Jack, not one who meets the level of expectation boxing fans want to see.

How will Wlad knocking out a cruiser who all Wlad fans say is a fraud and joke move him up any rankings?
