Holmes not more exciting than Lewis?

Have you watched either of them?

Holmes had some of the most exciting heavyweight fights ever. Holmes v. Norton is among my personal favorites.

I don't see much hate from USA for the Klits.

There are some, but there are enough who also recognise their ability too.

If you want a group that really dominates the insane hatred of Klitschkos, look to the UK.

atlas thinks about haye or Klitschko's? Teddy always ruins espn coverage of Klitschko fights.

Totally ruins them, he hates them with a passion it seems.:-(

How does anything Wlad does effect Ali's rating? Wlad is nowhere near Ali as far as ratings in concerned.

Hold up, didn't Wlad get the **** beat outta him by Purrity, Sanders, and Brewster?

Didn't he almost also get the **** beat outta him by caveman Sam Peter?

He already has three losses to journeymen and multiple knockdowns.

Hell, when he lost to Sanders, he was a gold medal amateur champion, has 40 fights and was in his 7th title defense.

He got the **** beat outta him. He went down the second time without even getting hit, crawling on his hands and knees with his ass in the air. His manhood was stripped from him.

Since then, who has he fought? One bum after another.

    And Vitali?

He's tough, but let's not get it twisted.

Let's put it all into perspective...

When Tyson and Marciano fought their aging ATG, they beat the **** outta them. Larry Holmes even went on to beat a PRIME Mercer 4 years later. You should note that a shot Mercer is Wlad's best win.

When Vitali was put in that situation, he got the **** beat outta him, his eyeball almost popped out, and he was hangin on like a homosexual.

Is that the mark of a great champion?

exactly! the pawing jab, and grab and hold technique are not ver appericated in the states. klit fights are boring snoozefests, and they're on at 2pm which is perfect for an afternoon nap.

The fact is, Wlad dropped the ball.

Right before the Sanders fight, he had the biggest win of his career against a shot Mercer. Wlad was being hyped up as the next big thing. He was going to be the heavyweight successor and people in America were excited.

He had full HBO backing, and was an offensive powerhouse. He was in his 7th title defense and was the Gold Medal winner. Talks about the Purrity loss were dismissed because he was green at the time, and now he was in his physical and mental prime.

The world awaited his victory against Sanders.

    What happened?

Sanders BEAT THE **** outta Wlad. The second knockdown, Wlad goes down without even getting hit. American fans can't believe their eyes. They are thinking that this is one of the biggest cowards they have ever seen.

All the other champions at least put up a fight when they were hit with adversity. Marciano fought with blood going into his eye for 9 rounds against Walcott, and split nose against Charles.

Ali fought with a broken jaw against Norton.

Tyson took serious punches against Douglas and didn't go down until he was beat down and could not physically get up.

Wlad on the other hand goes down on his own will power, his ass in the air, ready for Sanders to take his manhood.

Americans then gave him another chance despite his cowardly showing, and again he got the **** beat outta him by Brewster, an unknown journeyman.

Years later, the Klitschko hype returned.

It was a unification bout between Wlad and Ibriganov. This would put Wlad back on television screens in America.

    What happened?

Wlad fought like a complete coward in the worst title fight in heavyweight history. He was banned from the networks.

He was lost with American viewers.

    Wlad dropped the ball...

People like to talk about how the media has shunned the Klitschkos but that revisionist thinking at it's best.

Wlad was one of the very few boxers in the world who has made mainstream American TV appearances. When he was on Conan, he did something very few fighters do and that's be given the opportunity to cross over into the mainstream public. He was on music videos, on American TV a lot, widely reproted by the press...yet he isn't now. Why? Because the majority of that hype came around the Ibragimov farce. He was given every chance in the world and instead of knocking Ibragimov out, he pawed with his jab and won a boring decision. That isn't what the fans wanted.

The American media gave Wlad a huge chance. They gave him an opportunity only De La Hoya, Pacquiao and Mayweather have had in recent years and, quite simply, he blew it. After that, MSG refused to show boxing, it affected boxing badly in New York and HBO were no longer interested in hyping Wlad.

As for Vitali, he had his chance years ago when he was the best in the world. However, everyone wanted to see him fight the best and that simply didn't happen. How many times did he pull out of the Rahman fight? That killed any interest in him and, apart from the Arreola fight which was solely due to Arreola, he hasn't been relevant in America. However, he had his chance to make a name for himself when HBO wanted to back him. He had his chance but blew it too.

America ignoring the heavyweight division is only a recent thing. They have backed Vitali and they have backed Wlad. The reason they don't now, is because they gave both brothers every possible opportunity, only to see those opportunities wasted.

While it is no secret that many African-American fight fans detest the Klits, this statement is spot on!

Wow. I'm a hardcore fan so I have to watch, but these 2 post make a lot of sense to why the average fan is turned off here in America.
