i don't understand the hatred towards the K-Bros. Personally, i think they are an assest to the sport and are great champions. Some people just need to hate, so let the haters hate.

    Wlad by late round KO...

Everything Jack said on the brothers having their chances and blowing it couldn't be more accurate. A lot of inadequate posters on here should be grateful to men like Jack, who chooses to come to the general and learn posters a thing or two about boxing, life and the way things work.
For all the people discrediting Angelo Dundee. Shame on you!
I am a lifelong boxing fan who comes from a boxing family. I was watching the Wlad v Tony Thompson fight a few years back, until it got to the 8th round. I then turned it off and found something better to do with my time. I thought to myself at the time that i never thought i would see the day i would turn a championship fight off, nevermind a heavyweight title fight! I think the bros are top level heavies (i prefer Vitali), but i think this should give you an indication as to why they are not thought highly of in the US or in numerous other boxing nations.
The TS is a an idiot who is just another nuthugger playing the victim on behalf of the bros. I haven't got a clue what Ali has got to do with Wlad's all time standing, has they are clearly worlds apart has fighters. I suppose it's just another Klitschko fan trying to link Wlad to an ATG's name, in the vein hope that people will see him as one too.
Some of you guy's in the general really should pick another sport to chew the fat over.
The Klits are quality heavies but don't deserve no more love than they are getting, simpy because they just don't do enough.
Wlad is a credit to himself has a person. Vitali has no class at all.

Did you turn your tv off because the fight was boring or because the black guy was losing?

You probably also turned off half of Holmes' fights then I take it? What about a third of Ali's hugging snoozefests?

Let's take Ali - Bonavera. Did you also turn that off? How many rounds did you last before you fell asleep? :deal

Oh right, all past great fights are on a "different level". No boring fights!

Thanks for the compliment, mate :good

I agree with everything you said too. There's a level of expectation with the heavyweights and the Klitschkos just don't match up to that level. Wlad, in particular, is probably the least aggressive minded heavyweight champion in history. Even guys like Patterson would be vicious inside the ring and had a killer instinct that I don't see in Wlad. Patterson was about the nicest guy you'll ever find in boxing, too. Even non-punchers like Ali had a mean streak too and would beat a guy up for fun. Brutal? Yes, but I don't see that in Wlad. Larry Holmes is often criticized but when he faced an aging legend in Ali, he beat him up for round after round before asking the referee to stop it, landing hard punches at will. When Wlad was asked about fighting an aging legend in Holyfield, he flat out refused.

Some people will rightly say "Well, Wlad's a nice guy, so you can't criticize him for that" and I agree, it's unfair to criticize him for not fighting Holyfield and destroying him, but the difference in mentality does go some way to explain why the Klitschkos haven't broken through into America.

Heavyweight boxing has always been different, going well back to the bareknuckle days. People associate it with being tough, brutal, aggressive, hard, manly and so on. Not exactly words you'd use to desrcibe Wlad, who, whilst being a power puncher, has the mentality of a UN diplomat. Under the Klitschko reign, the prestige in being "World heavyweight champion" has never, ever been lower and this is part of the reason why because Wlad is a nice guy, but people don't want the heavyweight champion to be a nice guy! They want a ***** who'll taunt you and beat you up over 12 rounds, go for the kill in the first and maybe land a couple of blows when you're taking a knee. They want a guy who'll fight on through any sort of injury or cut, get up after being knocked down and go straight to war.

Wlad just isn't that type of fighter and that's what really hurt his appeal in America. When he was fighting Ibragimov in New York, there was a lot of hype and expectations. That was his make or break night and instead of being the cold, ruthless, brutal fighter people wanted him to be, he pawed behind a jab against a fighter who had no determination and even less chance.

He had the opportunity of a lifetime to make a name for himself against Ibragimov but, instead of snatching it with both hands, he was too defensive minded and blew it. Not only disgracing himself but shunning the heavyweight division from HBO, damaging the prestige of being 'Heavyweight world champion', hurting boxing in New York and, ultimately, hurting his own legacy.

  7. Maybe its not bias, maybe its just Dundee's **** opinion.

He's failed at calling fights before.

I know man, I just wanna put together a list of very respected boxers/analysts/commentators/trainers from America who are haters... here's my list so far.. Im sure im forgetting a lot of people...

    1. Teddy Atlas - no need to explain his spot-on predictions Lmao

    2. Max Kellerman - stated many times brothers are weak

    3. Roy Jones Jr. - said he would knock out both bros, and they have weak chins (yea ok Roy, you can speak on the subject of weak chins, you have a lot of experience with that..)

    4. Jameel McCline (commentating Adamek-McBride fight recently, said Wlad will be KO'd by Haye)

    5. Bernard Hopkins - many interviews discrediting bros

    6. Oscar De La Hoya - this makes sense, since Haye signed a deal with his promotin company.

    7. Angello Dundee

    8.... Add your own

God himself could return to earth, assume the body of a white fighter, and Hopkins would attempt to discredit him.

    He's a racist *****.

What does it make me any less of boxing fan for turning a Wladimir Klitschko fight off? GTF.
My problem is that a lot of Klitschko fans (especially Wlad's) on here, are so insecure about their man's legacy and career, that they continually claim the brothers are victims of this, or not getting love because of that. The fact is the brothers are fine heavyweight champions but simply don't excite alot of people.
They should just learn to live with it. It is what it is.

Best coment to date. Americans detest and are very suspicious of powerful, dominant white athletes who come to fight and destroy their opponents. They prefer their white men to be passive, physically weak but intellectually erudite and verbose like Phil Donahue. Much like women but with facial hair. The Klitschko brothers enter the eye of the tiger with violence in their eyes, power in their appendages and a proud warrior spirit in their hearts. They leave their enemies of all colors and races generally at their feet spitting blood, semi-conscious and thoroughly defeated. The fact that they are also European is just another "brick in the wall."

When you grow up, you'll realize that rejecting such an offer, from an erudite boxing philosopher like myself, was absolute tomfoolery.

    Tomfoolery, I say.

EDIT: The word "erudite" two posts in a row?
