In the 8 years I have been on ESB I have seen some major american claims regarding their young prospects....most of which failed badly. Before Calzaghe we heard Lacy was a P4P in the making, a 'mini tyson', they hype after the Reid fight was unreal (even though the ref cheated Reid) Pavlik was a p4p future HOF knocking out anyone that moves and would also destroy Calzaghe Dawson was a future HOF'er, P4P and possible ATG in the making........ Williams was also the above so of these 4 fighters who were all told (on ESB) to either be P4P'ers, ATG's and HOF'ers in the making....which ones made the grade?
Never heard of Jeff Lacy when he was moving up the rankings, only heard of him when Calzaghe destroyed him. Who exactly was naming him the mini Tyson? Pavlik was top 10 p4p and undisputed middleweight champion, Dawson was top 10 p4p and still current lineal Light Heavyweight champion, and Williams was top 5 p4p. Would of made more sense if you mentioned Jermain Taylor, he was getting heavily overrated by HBO and others.
