It is insane! As far as I can tell, and you can stop reading to post a link to hard evidence, Antonio Margarito, the fighter, never was found guilty of knowing anything about loaded gloves. Handwraps are done by the trainer, and the trainer is the one to be punished for loading gloves, unless the fighter is found guilty of knowing about it and still entering a fight. Obviously every trainer does the wraps a bit differently, and obviously extra padding is illegal, and doing it with a "greasy material" is loading gloves, a very serious violation, Javier Capetillo should face criminal charges for attempting to load gloves! But we are talking about Antonio Margarito, the fighter, not Capetillo, the trainer. And think for a second: doing the wraps is about 20 minutes overall and the trainer is applying all kind of layers and different stuff, so I don't even believe that the single extra pad added before the Shane Mosley fight made Antonio Margarito a f*cking difference, he's just a fighter, who was most likely preparing mentally for the fight, and not analying the stuff with a rule book how proper wraps are made. And I most definitely don't have and never heard of any kind of evidence that Margarito knew what was going on. FACT: you are innocent until proven guilty, that's the base of civilized law. As far as I can tell, Antonio Margarito, the fighter is innocent. Nazim Richardson found the illegal wraps made by Javier Capetillo with that extra pad which is believed (was it even proved?) that was filled with wet plaster of Paris. BUT Nazim Richardson himself said that there's no evidence whatsover that Margarito entered any fight with loaded gloves (they were obviously rewrapped for the Mosley fight), AND Nazim said that the picture floating around the internet of Tony's hands after some other fight, IS NO EVIDENCE of loaded gloves. It's the same Nazim Richardson, you should trust him. FACT: so far there's no evidence of Margarito ever entered any fight with loaded gloves! To be found guilty, first there must be a crime. Javier Capetillo was found guilty of trying to load gloves, but who the **** are YOU to tell that 1) Margarito actually entered one or many fights with loaded gloves and 2) ANTONIO MARGARITO, THE FIGHTER KNEW ABOUT IT! Think before you judge! The media jumped on Margarito even if Capetillo did the wraps, and until Margarito found guilty of knowing about it, Capetillo is the only one who can be blamed for "attempted glove load", because that's the only thing we have evidence for. So please elaborate me and tell me why Antonio Margarito must suffer, if he was never found guilty of doiung anything?
Margarito is human trash. Should be put in prison. never making another dollar off boxing again. **** him and **** this. :good
What the **** are you talking about? FACT: Margarito was caught with loaded gloves. FACT: A fighter is responsible for what goes on in his corner [like handwrappings]. Now please, do us all a favor and STFU...
Are you serious? That's like handing somebody a gun, them shooting somebody and then saying "Oh I didn't know he handed me a gun." Don't be ******ed and use your peanut sized brain. A fighter watches what his trainer is doing with his handwraps. Even if he doesn't, he should still be responsible if plaster is found in them. He would feel a harder than normal substance being smashed against his knuckles and his opponents body. That's the bottom line. Antonio Margarito is a cheat, a fraud and has ZERO official wins on his record as far as I'm concerned. The only legit fight he's been in he got knocked the **** out! That's the story of Margarito the piece of **** idiot.
You are an idiot. How could be the fighter responsible for handwraps, if it is done by the trainer? Wait wait wait... you think Margarito himself put horseshoe in his gloves?
eh... i dunno man. I aint nobody special, but its just hard to believe marg didn't know what was in his wraps. just the fact that they got caught TRYING to load gloves, should be enough to ban them (fighter and trainer) for life. I mean, we don't want to wait for them to succeed at loading gloves and then ban them? In anycase, it's hard to believe marg had no knowledge of the illegal wraps. i just don't buy it. And at the same time, its hard to believe he never entered the ring with loaded gloves prior to getting caught TRYING to load his gloves. If you get caught cheating on your girlfriend, chances are, it wasn't the first time you cheated, nah mean son!
Come on please, a fighter knows whats going into his gloves or at the very least knows when there is something fishy going on. Do you really think his trainer just decided to do what he did on his own?? I dont think so and if he did (highly unlikley) why isnt cheato trying to hunt him down for ruining his career Nobody should give that cheating scumbag another payday, if he wants to potentially ruin oppontents careers and maybe lives than he has to pay the price himself
Only it's not a gun, it's a hand protecting method for fighters entering a fight. Everyone has handwraps, and it is only a "gun" if it's loaded, but please tell me exactly HOW the **** should Antonio Margarito, the fighter, check if it's loaded or not, maybe analyse it with superman eyes? And even if he had superman skills, why should he suspect that his trainer is loading his gloves? Just tell me how is Antonio Margarito, the fighter, is responsible for something his trainer did, and not even did, but the trainer was trying to do, but in the end, the trainer failed and Margarito actually fought clean?
fact the fighter is incharge of his corner and responsible for any wrong doing. as a fighter he is aware what goes in his wraps. this wasn't his first prom fight. he was not oblivious as to what was going on. he was neglible at worst which is still considered a crime. i tlike going in the bank with a friend who robs it your standing their with him he robs it and oyu drive the get away car. Capetillo gave him the wepons he had no quams about using it.
LOL tony was in the other room when his hands were wrapped! lol . . . I am so Happy that PUNK will not fight in the states anytime soon and I hope forever.I wish Idiots like this would STFU and let tony start his new career as a cab drive because it is better than making licenses plates after all
End of thread. Antonio Margarito is a known cheater who complied sheepishly with a one year suspension because he knew he got off easily and had no ground to stand on in terms of disputing his case. If we start down the bull**** road of forgiving him based on the ridiculous notion that only his trainer knew about the loaded gloves, then that plead of ignorance becomes a protection against all other cheats. "Well, I didn't know," suddenly becomes a viable excuse - when it is not. It is laughable to suggest "Manos De Plaster" was an unknowing victim of his trainer. Absolutely absurd.
