Bottom line: His hands, his gloves, his trainer, his wraps, his corner, his responsibility. He got caught, he got suspended. We could argue all day and night as to whether he knew or not, but fact is the fighter IS RESPONSIBLE for knowing what goes on in his corner. This was not his first fight. Ignorance is not an excuse.

As I said before, there is no evidence that he used illegal wraps in any of his previous fights, but he was caught red handed before the Mosley fight. Claiming he did not know is not an excuse.

Now, should he be allowed to fight again? That is up to the athletic commissions of whatever state he applies to. He should apply in California, since that is the commission that suspended him.

This idea of taking responsibility for those working for/with you doesnt just apply to boxing, if for example there was a breach of airport security and it could be attributed to a security operator not doing his job correctly, its not just the operator who may take the blame, if the breach was serious enough the reprecussions could go all the way to the top, the guy at the top often cannot just wash his hands of it and say i knew nothing about that, plus the guy at the top isnt wearing incriminating wraps either

No offense dude, but that is ridiculous. What do you think the minutes were saying when they said repeatedly, ......

"His testimony supported that Antonio Margarito was attempting to use an illegal hand wrap."

And what do you think this means........

"motion was made for revocation, seconded, and carried unanimously."

BB, you really have to go out on a lot of limbs to believe that Margarito is an innocent victim here. You have to really bend over backwards.

But try to look at it a little objectively. I had nothing against Margarito until this happened. He was a beast who seemed to have a warrior's mentality and no quit.

But, no matter how many people tell you you're off base, or that logic dictates that he did it, got caught, had a hearing, is disciplined unanimously, does his time with no outrage, no resistance from him or his people....... and yet, you still search for any angle to put Margarito in a favorable light, and ways that he might, just might not be guilty. He should hire you. HE would have a better shot than what they are doing now, which is...........nothing.

In this case, the simplest answer is the correct one.

    HE DID IT.

Dude... what's wrong with you? Of course he "attempted to use illegal wraps", since that's why wraps are made, and the ones Capetillo made for him were illegal. But Margarito claims and the trainer testifies HE DIDN'T KNOW THEY WERE ILLEGAL!

But leave the one-year suspention, the Commission ruled that with no evidence against Margarito, it already happened, as many say he got suspended beacuse he's responsible for his corner's actions. But at no point the Commission claims Margarito was personally involved in this saga (other than it was his hands Capetillo wrapped), yet people say nonsense like he purposefully loaded his own gloves, actually in many fights, and therefore should be banned for good and put behind bars. There's absolutely no evidence for any of these claims.

They got caught. Of coarse Marg is going to say he didn't know. Imagine if he said he knew, he would be banned for life. I am not saying he used loaded gloves in the past, but if this was going to happen with the Mosely fight, why not other fights? Think about other fighters who are possibly getting away from doing something like this or the steriods that has been used for possibly many years by others. No proof, but I will never buy "I didn't know my trainer put it in my wraps BS". Come on man, trainers are almost like family. Again, why Mosely and not Cotto and others? Marg was going into that fight was no worries especially what he just did to Cotto.

That's your opinion. I am a fight fan. I do like Cotto as much as I like PBF, Pac, Mosely and others more closely than some other fighters. There are a lot of intelligent posts responding to this thread and all you have to do is throw Cotto's name out there. Yea, stay out with your unintelligent comments. Make sure you ask your parents permission before you use their computer.

Would you be saying this if he got caught AFTER the Mosley fight?

    I doubt it my friend.

The pads in his wraps were hard.

Who cares if it was hand cream or plaster.

Why were the pads hard? Even old gauze doesn't get hard.
