How can there possibly be no evidence when he was caught with it in his gloves. Riciculous.

No one is saying he should be punished for suspicions of cheating in prior
fights. But the suspicions will always, always be there.

I find it strange that when it comes to Margo, its not his lawyers, his trainer, who margo seems to have nothing against, its not Arum or anyone associated with the sport screaming the loudest, its internet fanboys who seem to think they know more than those who heard the evidence.

McCarthyism? Are you for real? If this were like the McCarthy era, Margarito just got caught at a communist rally getting ready to hand out leaflets. Only, you'd say they were Capetillo's leaflets and Margo thought they were missing persons fliers.

 

He obviously let his trainer load his wraps, there is no way in hell he didn't know.

 

Let me rephrase this for you.

Fact, the fighter is in charge of his trainers, and responsible for any wrong doing. As a fighter, he is aware of what goes into his body. this wasn't his first pro fight. He was not oblivious to waht was going on. He was negligent at worst, which is still considered a crime.....Balco gave him the weapons, he had no qualms about using them.

But, all that was OK, cos it's Mosley, and he's got a nice smile?

Or Evander "Evan Fields" Holyfield, that's OK too?

James "I only used Roids Twice, honest" Toney?


Those guys are all free to ply their trade without any issues, but Margo is done for life? Give me a ****ing break. The hypocirsy is laughable.

 

What do you have to say that Shane Mosley himself felt those knucklepads and said they felt normal to him?

It seems that anyone that has the opinion that you do, cant seem to come to grips that the fighter that was going to be on the recieving end of those knucklepads, did'nt think just by feeling them that there was something wrong with them.

If Mosley who actually took the knucklepads and felt them with his hands and fingers could'nt tell the difference......what makes you think that Margarito should have known the difference by just having them placed over his knuckles?????????

A few excerpts from the above hearings........


License inspector Mike Bray was called to testify and to reiterate what was found on the hand wraps–which he said looked “moist and dirty looking.

Recalling what he saw when summoned to the dressing room and first seeing the wrap,

“I immediately retrieved it. I believe it was an illegal pad–it needed to be confiscated. I observed what appeared to be a bloodstain. It was not new and their was a white substance smeared across the knuckles. It was hard to the touch–like Plaster of Paris.”- Mike Bray, License Inspector


It was stated that there was more arguing from Capetillo and Richardson in the dressing room. When Lohuis walked in he saw the tape was too far back on the wrists and told them take it off and in both English and Spanish, trying to calm them down as the wraps were removed again. Having over 25 years experience he said he’s supervised over 20,000 fights. When questioned if he still believed the hand wraps were indeed illegal he stated firmly,


“No doubt then, no doubt now. The wraps I found had the knuckle pad altered in some form. They were hard. I didn’t think twice when I pulled them out as illegal.” - Dean Lohuis, Chief Inspector

Bottom line, you need to bend over backwards just to try and give Margarito the benefit of the doubt. But why? Why is it that the people screaming the loudest are fans are the internet and not him, his lawyers, promoters, etc. If this is all so unjust to Margarito, why is being taken so easily..... especially by Arum?

 

You wanna play the system's game, then by all means do so.

But everyone here isn't blinded by that ridiculous game. We all know the higher truth. Just like we know when someone got hometown decision. The truth will always stand amongst the people.

It does state "beyond REASONABLE doubt"...there's nothing reasonable about any of this **** and to think otherwise makes you a ****in' fool.

Margarito seems to be the most hated boxer at the moment..........................................................and that could only mean huge business when(and if) he comes back.


The man did his time he deserves a second chance as far as I'm concerned!

 

Lets see what develops......Arum for example has been very vocal since day one that Margarito was innocent and did'nt know whether his wraps were legal or not.

Not that I value Arum's opinion, but its been his stance that Margarito should be given the benefit of the doubt and that he was clueless to the wraps.....

One of the reasons why Margarito may not have taken this to litigation could very well be that if he did so......that process would take so long it could last for years.....

......and it may be the reason why Margarito was willing to accept the one year ban and be done with it so that he could be able to return.

Margarito applied to be licenced in Texas, but because his licenced was revoked in California, these state commisions now want to be uniform and not stomp on a California ruling.......

......the next step is for Margarito to apply for a license in California and then if he's regected, his next step as you have said des, can very well tell us if Margarito knows for a fact he's dead to rights and the CSAC indeed has the goods on him.......

.......but as of now, none of us has been privelaged to see the clear evidence, and I"m not about to come out and say Margarito absolutely knew his gloves were loaded and convict him in the court of public opinion.

 

:good Agreed , ive been watching Margarito since he was an 18 year old prospect and he has been brutalizing opponents said same style and his punches inflicted the same damage, i highly doubt he was "so called loading since early in his career" Saw him in person brutalize Alfred Ankamah as a 18 year old and he looked as devastating as he has against Cintron and Cotto(just less experienced).
WHen he starts knocking people out again, i hope all the haters will just shut the **** up and let it go.

 

You make some fair points. One thing about Arum though, is that he kicked up a storm early, but has been glaringly quiet since. Certainly not his style if he thought his guy was being wronged.

The thing about the 1 year revocation, apparently it is the maximum they can do. But, they can continually deny his reinstatement. I don't know how long that will last or if other states.

I have no problem if others want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but I certainly won't. I think if people take the evidence into account and see him as guilty, he deserves no benefit of any doubt. But that's just me. Others are more forgiving.

I do think we are all in agreement though that we want to see the CSAC be a little more forthcoming with their findings and exactly what went down.

 

I hope Margarito comes back and fights well to prove a point. The trouble is he took such a beating last time out, it's hard to imagine any fighter coming back from that to fight in his prime again.
