I have always thought it a stupid arguement on a number of levels, but it doesn't make sense numbers wise. There are far more Americans competing at heavy than in Britian, Russia, Ukriane and any number of others combined:America- 425Britain- 38Canada- 35Germany- 35Ukraine-28Russia- 25New Zealand- 24France- 16Poland- 11Cuba- 10Uzbekistan- 9Nigeria- 7Italy-6 Bulgaria- 5Finland- 4

Where did you get those stats from?

I've always said that, if a boxer truly wants to box, they will box...they won't be distracted by other sports. This is why I feel that all the potential American Heavyweights in other sports, 90% of the time is an excuse.

Boxrec. Just click on a fighter and it will give you his ranking amongst his countrymen.

I agree with your comments as well.

Not to mention the fact that there are other, easier "big man" sports in other countries as well diluting the talent pool of non-American heavies.

the best American athletes are in sports other then boxing. I dont know how many times this has to be explained to Europeans that boxing is a niche sport in America now. That very few aspiring athletes get into boxing anymore. That anyone over 6'3 220 is playing football or basketball. That New York City once the mecca of boxing, now only has around 10 boxing gyms, where it used to have 100.

    Lebron James 6'8 250

    Dwight Howard 6'11 265

    Brandon Chillar 6'3 240

You think fat slobs like Chris Arreola and Eddie Chambers are the best athletes we have lol?

This era in boxing is weak. The Holyfields, Ali's, Tysons, Bowes would have destroyed the Klitsckos. However they are now in other sports. Boxing is no longer meaningful, tennis gets more coverage said to say.

:rofl How can a boxer box when nobody cares about boxing, when there are no gyms, no scholarships, no sponsers, and no real reason to do it?

A 6'7 270lb athlete gets a scholarship and free schooling if he's good at basketball or football. Why the hell would he box?

And you believe this is only happening in America? Bollocks...you believe boxing gets a great deal of coverage in the UK? No. Do you believe the UK has an amazing amount of boxing gyms? No. Same goes for Europe and the majority of places in the world.

Just because you can list the amount of tall, heavy athletes in other sports...doesn't mean they could do shite all in boxing.

Like I said, if a person truly wants to box, they box. There could be potential successful Heavyweights in other sports in America, but the same goes for any country...90% of the time people use it as an excuse for why there isn't an American dominating or challenging/being competitive in the Heavyweight division.

If nobody cares about boxing...why are you claiming that your "Heavyweight champions" are in other sports then? If they don't want to box, or they don't care about boxing...then they won't box. You can't just make up fantasy champions.

American football and basketball athletes are far superior to Rugby athletes and its not even close. They are bigger, faster and stronger. There is nobody in english Rugby that is as good as the best American football players. if they were good they'd be making millions more then they make playing rugby. Its just a fact.

America dominated the Heavyweight division for 100 years. Boxing is no longer a major sport in america. You think that its a coincedence that the best heavyweights America produces is Chris Arreola and Eddie Chambers.

I know you are stupid so let me simplify it for you. Are you saying that Eddie Chambers and Chris Arreola and Shannon Briggs are as good as Evander Holyfield, Tyson, Ali, Joe Louis and the plethora of other great heavyweights over the past 100 years are.

Let me simplify it more for you. Are you saying the Klitsckos are great in any era?

I never said anything about heavyweight champions being in other sports. I said our best athletes are in other sports. Chris Arreola and Eddie Chambers arent close to our best athletes. If Lebron James or the plethora of other giant Americans who can leap over 7'0 tall french mens heads were getting boxing training at an early age there would be no Eddie Chambers or Chris Arreolas in boxing.

Again what doesnt your dumbass get about there not being any good heavyweights anymore. Do you seriously watch old tape of Tyson and say "wow Tyson was good but man those Klitsckos are amazing?
