The argument that American Heavies are "in other sports"

Now before you try to sidestep and somehow claim that body mass index is not an accurate measure of obesity, as people who are very muscular have a high body mass index and could be classified as obese, therefore high obesity rates in the US could be explained by very athletic and muscular people... from the same study by the CDC:

"Likewise, abdominal obesity--which, is defined as having a waistline of 35 inches for women and 40 inches for men--is on the rise. The male abdominal obesity rate increased from 39% in 1999-2000 to 44% in 2007-2008, while the female rates jumped from 56% to 62% over that same span, the news organization reported on Tuesday."

Now go look up the populations of these countries and get back to me with the per capita stats moron.

We are naturally athletic superior. Look at the history of every single major sport with the exception of soccer. And even our 5th most popular sport in the last 2 years the USA has been able to beat Spain and draw with England. We are very much superior to you. The proof is in the pudding.

 

Maybe the "soda tax" could in the long run result in more American heavyweights.

Also the UK has a pop. of 60 million, Germany 80 and that's being generous, while Italy 40. That is 180 million, 120 million less than the US.

I didnt leave out European russia ******. I entered russia's gold medal total into the statistics. If I took Soviet Russia, which was most of Asia, and half of Europe, then it'd only beat the USA by a few medals, but the Soviet Unions populations was upwards of 200,000,000 and adding BRitain, Germany and Italy to Russia would not make them per capita better then the USA.

I just said that if I included the soviet union it still wouldnt surpass the USA per capita wise since the population of Soviet Union was well above 200 million at its height, meaning if you add in the UK, Germany, and Italy its population would be larger then the USA with the medal count being the same.

Well Hungary has 465 olympic medals. Their population is 10 million, roughly 30X smaller than the US. If their population was the same as yours they would be projected to have won 12,000 medals.
Are you now saying Hungarians are the most naturally athletically gifted people on Earth.
