You were the one who included germany in your list!! But you didnt mention that in the past there were east and west germany. You also counted 108 gold medals for russia with them having competed in only 4 olympics as compared to the USA's 25 olympics!! What the hell is wrong with you?? You also seem to have listed italys silver medal total for some reason as well

no they wouldnt, johnny wilkinson is the greatest kicker everyone has ever seen in this lifetime anyway....he turned down nfl offers, as did Jonah Lomu.

Look at curtis woodhouse, he was a football player turned boxer, he could have contuined raking in the easy money playing football, he went to boxing because thats what he wanted to do, earning less money in the process....ever think some players actually love the sport they are in and arnt so money orientated like those in the usa?

+johnny wilkinso is a rugby WORLD CUP winner, if he had gone to the usa and won the superbowl who would have ever known of him outside the usa? its a small sport on a global scale

    No, they wouldn't.

Johnny Wilkinson would be the best kicker in NFL history, but he has consistently turned the NFL down for years. There is no appeal other than money but there is more to be gained from winning titles than that.

The kicker is an interesting position because it's so much harder in rugby than the NFL. Even David Beckham broke the world record for the length of a field goal or whatever they're called, on his first day with an NFL ball. He's a footballer who doesn't train to kick the ball hard but precision. Most rugby kickers would walk into an NFL team with ease.

EDIT: I was already replying before you posted, Arran.

Tom also had 1 professional fight while he was playing at Notre Dame. He won his debut(and only fight) via first round KO.

Brandon Jacobs, a running back for the Giants(and also happens to be Kendall Holt's manager and friend), also had an amateur career, I believe his record was 30-2.

He's the one guy in the NFL that I think would have been perfect for it. Incredibly athletic, flexible, and not overly packed with muscle.

Well, to give the whole story, the 64 yard field goal that he kicked had the wind behind it. Of course, when he tried to kick it into the wind it fell 15-20 yards short. The unofficial record for the NFL is Ola Kimrin with 65 yards(it was a preseason game so it's not admitted into the record book).

I'm sure that there are plenty of kickers the can kick further than 63 yards(and maybe without wind Beckham can do it too), but the problem is the opportunity never arises simply because it would be stupid strategy(if the field goal kicker misses the team would be giving up some serious field position). An embarassing example of this came from the NFL's Oakland Raiders

Thats not true. My Philadelphia Eagles have Sav Rocca an Australian Rugby player, and while he could boot the ball a mile he was absolutely terrible with precision kicking. Not until this year was he able to start pinning opponents deep in their end of the field.

Punt the ball from the 30 yard line and its gonna go about 60 yards the other way. Punt the ball from the 50 and at best Rocca was gonna net you 30 yards becuase he was booting that **** out of the endzone and even a couple he shanked out of bounds.

Clear NFL punting is quite different then Rugby kicks because he struggled at first with precision.

If they could do it with ease than why don't they? They would make Millions more playing in the NFL ... do you honestly think it's because they just love Rugby? That's BS, no one loves it that much to decline millions $$$

Yeah just think if Joe Frazier was 20 years old today. He'd be king of the NFL, NBA, MLB whatever he chose :nut

I still think Michael Jordan should have tried his hand at baseball. He obviously would have been the greatest baseball player of all time

i just provided an example, curtis woodhouse, pro footballer turned boxer, he has lost ****ing loads of £ to follow his dream of boxing. not everyone is money orientated like americans

wilko was offered £6m a year by the nfl in 2007...he said no. famous worldwide or famous in america? hmmmm

why would he turn down a contract if it wasnt for his love for rugby, as soon as he signed that contract with the nfl...he then gets paid money, even if it turns to ****, he still gets paid.

The thing with US boxing is that the glamour is gone for a kid to start boxing at an early age without being influenced by the popular sports. In the days you would find kids going into a boxing gym and be the first of thier family to box. Now those numbers of guys have dropped off that map. Now guys coming up are related or close to someone who boxed or was a hardcore fan.

Too much glamour in the other sports because of the heavy attention and the fact that most of your peers are involved in those other sports. Those sports get you a scholarship as well.

This is merely an image thing. Boxing is a fringe sport here in the US. Our Talent pool is alot smaller and our big HW are rejects or Failures of other sports. Not groomed from the beginning like previous times.

Actually, he was quoted saying he was exciting about the possible chance to play in the NFL... yet the NFL teams lost interest after all of those injuries hampered his abilities

British Propaganda got the best of you...

and don't be so naive , thinking money is all we think about... as if you don't care about it. It was well known that he would lose millions in sponsorship deals if he did leave ...Not to mention that he could lose his hero status, kickers are not really heros in the NFL.

The point is , Jack said any kicker could walk onto an NFL team with ease... which is a complete joke... considering the only player that ever even got the NFL's attention was the best Rugby had to offer.

erm...he turned down a contract with Dallas in 2003, the year he became a WORLD CUP winner as well, long before the injury drama
