Ever heard of Pat Tillman ? Left a multi-million dollar contract to fight for what he believed in , and it cost him his life. Yes , Money is all we care about.

He only turned it down because he wanted to play in the world cup you moron, leaving the possibility of an NFL career after the world cup. The Injury drama started right after that win... no response to the sponsorship deals? Which pretty much equated to any salary he would receive in the NFL.. mr. he doesn't care about money.

is that the guy who got killed in friendly fire?

if he was only after money, why wouldnt he have signed a contract with Dallas in 2003? he became a WORLD cup winner that year, why would he leave for a smaller sport? yeah he would get good money, but what else? nothing.

his first major injury...think it was the shoulder was almost a year after the final! if he wanted the dallas contract he would have signed straight after scoring that world cup winning field goal.

haha, do you even realize how much money he made after the world cup victory? Maybe not through his team, but through endorsements a lone.

Who cares how Tillman was killed? I don't even think he was smart to do what he did, but my opinion on the war is not the issue... the issue is your claim that we only care about money and your people don't.. which is utter BS. The fact is, he gave up millions to put his life in great risk and fight for something that he believed in. If you can understand this, than maybe you are just a troll... I thought you had at least some intelligence, not just bias viewpoints.

i didnt say it mattered how he got killed, i said is that the guy, it wouldnt have made the news here would it, i vaguely rememner reading about it. the usa is all about money, dont talk ****, you know it, i know it, everyone knows it. yeah, thats one case of an american not taking the money route, the funny thing is i quite like nfl, im at the 49ers game next week...but the way americans make them out to be some sort of sporting gods is beyond a joke

I just don't understand this concept that because you are good at one sport you are good at another?!

I'm sure there might be guys in the NFL, NBA, rugby union, rugby league that may have made it in heavyweight boxing, who knows? Purely on the numbers playing, it's even more likely that there might be potentially great welter's, middle's and light heavies all over the world playing football (soccer), who knows?

The thing is you couldn't pick them out in a line up. Just because someone is big, powerful, quick, muscular, can lift this squat that, put a ball through a hoop, or ruck and maul like the best of them, it doesn't mean that they would be a great boxer. It's completely flawed logic.

I know a bit about Rocca because I was in Australia for a while and they ran a piece on him. As far as I know, he was done as an Aussie rules player and he had a choice between retirement, drop a few levels or the NFL. Obviously he chose the NFL but it's hardly the cream of the crop going.

And he was an Aussie rules player, as I said. Completely different to rugby aside from the 'punts'.

Kicking is much harder in rugby, there's no question about that. Given a bit of practice, why couldn't these better kickers excel in a much easier, for them, sport?

Honestly, I can't imagine American teams being interested in bringing over 20 foreign kickers. The NFL is an American institution and the players go from kids American football, to college to the draft and all that. I doubt anyone actually wants it to change because the minute one team drafts a genuinely good kicker, another will do the same. The big teams will copy and it will start a negative trend that I doubt the American's want to set, given the fact it is an American institution.

That doesnt have anything to do with what I said. If it was so easy then any Rugby player could do it. Obviously it wasnt easy for Sav.

Stop diverting all of the time. It just makes you look silly.

Lol what? If a guy can kick he can kick. There have been many foreign born kickers in the NFL. The grammatica brothers come to mind. There was a scottish dude that played in the superbowl 2 years ago I believe.

Baseball is America's past time is 30% foreign born. With the minor leagues being 50% foreign born. If you can do the job nobody cares where you are from.

Why there isnt a big pool of foreign born kickers in the NFL is because they cant do it right. They're taught different fundamentals like Sav was. And even though Sav had a big boot, he didnt know how to punt the way it is effective in the NFL and it took him 3 years to learn it.

Pat Tillman supposedly did not get killed by friendly fire, but he was knocked off because he learned the truth about the war and was going to tell themedia when he got back the States. It's a conspiracy theory, but it's awfully interesting.
