Hell, even look at MMA, it hardly has world class athletes in it, and is only starting in the last few years to draw what could be called gifted athletes.

Even smaller guys, 160-190 around 6' give or take 3 inches are playing football. The amount of scholarships out there for the taking and the chances to make a lot of money in the NFL is a huge draw.

It's a fact that very few boxers can start off as a pro with any kind of money, very very few can do that.. and you usually better win an Olympic medal to get the startup cash for going full-time into boxing.

Most gifted athletes make the logical choice of playing baseball, football, or basketball.

Come on. The level of athletes in basketball and football far exceeds any other place in the world.

In basketball for instance, Europeans have to really focus on fundamentals, and invent new things such as the "Euro step" for instance, just to keep up with their more athletic counterparts.

But now that athletically gifted American athletes are learning things from them, they are taking their game to another level. Dwayne Wade for instance uses this method.

You're lying to yourself if you think otherwise.
