Boxing is still the way out for a lot of people but those are the guys from smaller weights. Big guys have a safer bet on Basketball or football then in boxing.

Bull****, NFL runningbacks, defensive backs, and wide receivers are probably some of the best athletes in the world. They have amazing speed, explosiveness, agility and quickness. Hell even some of the linemen are incredbible athletes for thee size. I can tell you know nothing about football if you think that its only about brute strength.

I agree, I posted something similar a few pages back. I don't think it's just US heavies that are in other sports (if that is actually the case) - I think it's world wide.

AS mentioned, Basketball is huge in Europe - look how many more non-US guys are in the NBA now for example.

England has football (soccer), basketball, rugby league and rugby union.
Any Australian, New Zealander or Pacific Islander that's of any size or any athletic ability will be dragged into Rugby Union, rugby league, Aussie Rules or soccer (last of all....).

And there is very good money to be made out of any all of it.

Look at the All Blacks (NZ rugby side).

Captain, and loose forward Richie McCaw. 6'2", 106 Kg (233 lb's), and pretty athletic.

Lock forward, Brad Thorn - tho he's getting on a bit now

6'5", 116 Kg (255 lbs) and barely any fat on him.

All big *******s, all pretty athletic(ish) - they do play 80 minute games - all great sizes for boxing.

Out of 100 kids in NZ of that size interested in sport, you'd be lucky to get 1 that pursued boxing seriously first. There are a few that give it a go at the end of their rugby careers (Haumono, Hopoate etc), but not many that actively go into boxing FIRST.

This is not a uniquely US problem. It's practically the same the world over, except in some countries it's basketball, some it's football, rugby whatever.

To say American football players are better athletes than Rugby players is ******ed. Football is euivalent to rugby league with all the stopping. Rugby union however is a much more fast paced sport and requires immense athleticism.

Also, Rugby doesn't wear pads, so the mechanics of the tackles between the two sports are incomparible.

True but then again were are all the high level NZ HW boxers?

While there are some sports that draw in big men in europe the reality is that football/soccer is king almost everwhere with any competision coming a distance second.

The flaw in this arguement for me though is that it makes the leap of logic that if american talent at HW has declined then the overal level of talent in the division must have aswell, obviously ignoring the growth of the sport in europe.

An even better more recent example. Mike Tyson baddest man on the planet at 5ft 11" (exaggarated) and primed at around a poultry 215lbs. Too bad tyson you wouldnt make the bench in the NFL.

Yes, because Darren Sproles at 5'8'' 185, isn't one of the most dynamic tailbacks in the league.

    Oh, really.

So you're refering to all the great black European boxers. Who are these guys that you're talking about? You think David Haye is on a yellow streak, Audley Harrison is a fraud.

So who are you refeing to, Chisora?

What a racist imbecile you are.

Footbal in the United States is a religion. In fact, it's even on Sunday's. It is by far the biggest sport for everybody in the US. Basketball is huge also, but moreso for black America.

Most black American's don't aspire to be boxers if they are athletes, but football players and basketball players.

You really think that with the high level of athleticism required in those sports, that occupy millions of Americans would be applicable to boxing?

Do you have any idea how moronic that sounds? I mean, it's obviously clear that for some reason you think that despite their athleticism, blacks don't have chins, heart, strength or lung capacity, but you really don't thnk any of these guys are capable of being high level boxers?

Isn't that ironic, considering Wlad, considered by many to be the best heavyweight, has shown no chin, and was crawling around on the ground like a coward without even getting punched in the Sanders fight?

You have a heartless, chinless champion, yet he manages to get by just fine due to his athlecism.

Haye, according to you is a coward, yet he is probably the best athlete at heavyweight, and managed to gain a belt. Imagine that, a chinless, heartless, low lung capacity negroid with a belt.

Oh, but that's right, none of that applies to Haye because he is black, and he gained his belt fraudlantly through deception. It must be, because negroids don't have the brain intellect or heart to get a belt, right?

And as far as potential heavyweight fighters in other countries being in different, sports, that entirely possile too.

But to deny that despite th level of athleticm in the NFL and NBA, and despite the best fighters in the heavyweight division also being the best athletes, IT is not possible for them to box.

Get the **** outta here you ignorant mother ****er. Like I said, you make it seem like it's 1900 again.

Moron, football in Europe is 10 times bigger than NFL is in US. Do you know how many professional football players are in Europe? There are about 90 professional football clubs in England alone. Do you know how many players (CB or CF mostly) are over 6ft 3 and very athletic?

Just a few I've listed before. But I can add a lot more if you want.

    Zlatan Ibrahimovic - 6ft 5
    Jan Koller - 6ft 7 1/2
    Jaap Stam - 6ft 3
    Patrick Vieira - 6ft 3 1/2
    Marco Matterazzi - 6ft 4
    Nicola Zigic - 6ft 7 1/2

Are you that ****ing stupid? Your same tired arguement doesn't work: other countries put up neglible numbers in boxing. We put up far more. Your arguement does not work. They have a far higher percentage of great atheletes in their other sports: soccor, rugby, weigh lifting, hockey, basketball, etc. Its that simple. You have lost:

    America- 425
    Britain- 38
    Canada- 35
    Germany- 35
    Ukraine-28
    Russia- 25
    New Zealand- 24
    France- 16
    Poland- 11
    Cuba- 10
    Uzbekistan- 9
    Nigeria- 7
    Italy-6
    Bulgaria- 5
    Finland- 4

Haye is a coward. Lennox was not. Very few would debate that point at this juncture. None of that has anything to do with the fact that other counties send far fewer men into heavyweight boxing.

He never looked like a person you would fear. The ones I mentioned look like they can kick some ass.

    Zlatan is a badass.
